It originated from the Voyager video game 'Elite Force' released in 2000.
Appears very briefly in the prologue of the sequel as well.

I haven't played Elite Force. Wasn't available to me back in the day and now it's too dated. But I've read about it and read the comic. The Hazard Suit is cool. I hope we can display department colors like in the "End Game" mission from Elite Force II.
When returning to a game after a long time, it helps to roll a new character and play the tutorial.
Aside from that, there's no need to chase anything in particular - just enjoy playing for fun. Over time, you figure out which devices and ships suit your style.

Seems this new set comes with 30% increased energy damage when you are in aim mode, that is a very nice boost to ground damage weaponbs, and remember there are gound traits you get to also boost aim mode, so this looks like it is going to be a nice set.
You are missing one of the best FPS ST games from back in the day when Tek gaming was on a roll, great story and all the cast doing the voice work.

Yes, GOG is the best place to get all these old games now because they work at the press of a button, but seeing as BF is just around the corner i would wait and see if you can get it on sale, and they might even do some bundle sales with the Trek games so you end up getting more for your buck/pound/euro/farthing.

I bought starhip commander on GOG but it had a lot of bugs while playing the game
^^^Well 99% of the time GOG games open and run without any major issues.
There will be of course bugs in GOG games that were there in the origiinal game, as GOG are just versions that have been tweaked to run on a modern OS via dosbos, so basically you are paying GOG to do all the tweaking for you, but as they are not altering the game itself then all the bugs will still be there the original game devs.....but if you look around there will no doubt be unoffical mods and patches made by fans over the years to fix stuff.
