Game Of Thrones Season 6 Discussion (Spoilers)

Cersei is only doing this because she wants revenge on the High Sparrow, and if Margary gets killed during the rescue it's icing on the cake. There is no risk to anyone she cares about.

Seeing Sansa meet Jon for the first time in 5 years had me feeling all of the feels. Happy feels for a show that is not know for them at all!

While it's still to be determined how Benioff and Weiss will do without a good chunk of the source material to fall back on, it's nice to see how absolutely fast things are moving this season than in most of the seasons of the past. Like several of the things that happen in this episode I could see GRRM saving for the end of The Winds of Winter, but we get them right smack dab in the middle.

A very satisfying episode.
The Dothraki story line finally had a nice payoff this week, the last scene of the episode was beautifully done.
The two Stark kids finally getting back together was a great scene.
Sad about Osha, but better that than seeing her tortured.
Robin Aryn is still annoying but littlefinger may do something good for a change
Tyrion is kind of being wasted in the last few episodes
brienne and wildling leader make a good couple

I can't believe how many characters we have in one grouping right now: Jon Snow, Sansa, Brienne, Davos, and Melisandre! I can't wait to see them all interacting with each other!
Oh, and I forgot another great moment: Theon returning to his sister and begging forgiveness.

Wow! Just watched that before I go to work and need time to digest & re-watch. But so far I think that's the best episode of the season.

The part of the episode that had me most worried was if Ramsay was going to cut himself peeling that Apple.
I worried about the same thing as well. Poor Ramsay "the Psycho" Bolton.

My least favorite Stark meeting my favorite Bastard at Castle Black was a good scene.

I wonder if Ser Davos would seek revenge for Stannis death at the hands of Brienne since she admiited to it ?

Sad to see Osha die.

Good to see Baelish talk Robin Arryn into agreeing to fight against the Boltons.

Now Dany can add the Dothraki to the Unsullied and the Second Sons. She can make the Slave Masters and Sons of the Harpy pay for their stupid insurrection.

I knew the moment Daenerys stood in the middle of the dais that she was going to type over the fire stands (or whatever they're called). I didn't even think about "The Unburnt" aspect, rather just the visual cue.

I loved Jon and Sansa's much-awaited reunion. And hopefully very shortly we'll have another Stark reunion.

Speaking of which, I'm very sorry to have lost Osha after finally getting her back. I'm still hoping Rickon's return is still a ruse, even if it didn't go well for her. That being said, I liked Osha's reference to the book-rumored hiding place of RIckon and Osha: Skagos, the island of cannibals.

I wonder if Ser Davos would seek revenge for Stannis death at the hands of Brienne since she admiited to it ?.
Perhaps. Davos' loyalty to Stannis is still strong considering he's questioning Melisandre's newfound loyalty to Jon. However, as great as it was to see Brienne confronting Melisandre, I'm disappointed that the moment cut-off Davos discovering what happened to Shireen.

Fuck me sideways! What an awesome episode! :D:D

It seems like my general predictions are becoming fact though the meat is in the details.

I got misty eyed when i saw the reunion of Jon and Sansa.. they didn't have much contact even back in season 1 but they're still family. Good things happen rarely in the show and the good guys usually have to go through so much crap and pain that it was refreshing and heartwarming to finally see something good happening (they even acknowledged that Sansa and Jon weren't the closest siblings but that it doesn't matter now at all).

Brienne f... ing Tarth lays down the law by telling how much of a bastard Stannis actually was and what he did before she executed him. That at least shattered Davos' worldview and i wonder if after the first shock he'll set his eyes in Melissandre to enact revenge for Shereen.

Jon being in a funk is very understandable and unknowingly Ramsay made a big strategic mistake by riling up Jon but that's not unexpexted and one of the most fatal flaws that will surely lead to Ramsay's death sooner or later. He's not a leader.. he is cruel, vain, petty and unable to think like a true Lord who all understand the worth of alliances asnd that sometimes you have to bite your tongue to secure your power even if you would like nothing more than to split the other one in half. Ramsay doesn't care which is why when Jon marches on Winterfell he will have his Wildling army together will all Stark loyalists and everyone else who Ramsay ever pissed off against him.. good luck!

Theon seems to slowly collect himself again but it'll be ages before he comes even close to being a human again but he will support his sister and who knows what her plans are.. probably dealing with her murdering uncle but the Iron Islands story never really took hold in the show and is the least interesting part of an episode usually because they don't seem to be important to the story at all.

Could it be that Tyrion made his first big blunder by misreading the whole social construct of the region? He did the right thing of course but being right means jack shit if the others don't see it like this. He's playing the long game which may have been the right thing in the short run by cutting off the supply of the Harpies and enacting an unheard of social change though most likely it won't bear fruit as there are bigger problems brewing in the world and i don't expect the Masters to keep their word. What does anyone think the slaves will do once set free in 7 years (hypothetically). Right.. Kill the Masters! This is not an enlightened age of reason but an age of sword and revenge,

King's Landing.. aside from the Iron Islands the weakest part of the episode though still building up to some good old revenge/civil war. Nice to see enemies uniting and for once Cersei be actually right and being a little diplomatic.. that's promising to bring some excellent violence later on (did anyone also get the vibe that Margaery might consider killing Loras because he broke or is about to break under the interrogation? He always was a poster boy but underneath there was not much so what value does he have?)

Last and best.. Dany! Oh my god does she get the best Hell Yeah! moments in the show or what? :techman:
She may not have been the best ruler in the show.. the one with the best intentions yes but no one to guide her but warriors who usually suck at politics. The Pro's arrived far too late to turn everything around on time but she somehow manages to make it in her own again.

That she came up with the plan all by herself and then executed it so brilliantly speaks volumes.. i never would have expected that. She quickly came into her own once the first shock of encountering Dothraki culture subsided and she came a kind of devious master manipulator.. using the strongest assets of a particular situation to direct a certain outcome and she only got better over time (with the exception of her ruling phase which she bungled up) but understanding Dothraki culture and devising this plan is just plain badass (and i thought it'd be something so mundane as having Drogo divebomb Vaes Dothrak, showing her power and everyone falling in).
Now she has tens of thousand of Dothraki, thousands of Unsullied AND 3 Dragons.. how could anyone hope to stop her? It just remains to be seen if she will first try to deal with the mess in the cities by overwhelming military power or if she will bypass all this and make for Westeros.
One side note.. 3 Dragons. Drogon for her and the other 2 for her two most trusted and loyal friends/advisors/rescuers? That would be cool as fuck :eek:

I hadn't expected such a brilliant episode so "soon" in the season again.. the second one was jam packed and excellent but the third one was once again a set up show so i said to myself to expect another slow buildup and watch the shit hit the fan in the last 3 episodes, apparently they stepped on the gas some more this season and i'm all for it.

I was bothered by how very dull that knife was.

Got a bit teary at the reunion, I was convinced it would be endless near misses of the Stark children. I adore Sansa.

brienne and wildling leader make a good couple

My thoughts exactly, you could hear him thinking "my this is quite the woman"

Can Dany do her fire trick any time she wants?

In the books, Tormund (who's a rather different character in many ways) is always boasting of having fucked a bear, so there's a certain inevitability/irony in him casting the glad eye at Brienne - the episode and song title the bear and the maiden fair comes to mind!

I'm curious why Ramsay killed Osha right away rather than find out what she knows about Bran's location.

I thought of a great way Ramsay could die. He's about to release the hounds on Rickon, then Bran wargs the hounds to attack him, in a rebellion against tree guy who is trying to force him not to get involved.

I like that they're finally starting to converge their storylines. After four seasons of totally divergent development, those threads are finally moving closer to each other again.

I wonder how Arya's wolf is doing. If she just out in the wild somewhere being a wolf or if, should she encounter Arya, she'd still have loyalty. Don't know if anything happens with Limeria after Arya sends her away in the books.

One storyline seems pointless from last week (I think..).. Sam in the boat with Gilly and baby. Especially since the baby is not the same baby as in the books.

Also this week did not miss Arya at all. Found that faceless men stuff almost unreadable and haven't enjoyed watching it much either.

Man, Dani sure knows how to do "spectacular" when she wants. Takeaway from tonight's meeting: don't fill the braziers with greek fire.

And it's about fucking time a couple of Starks found each other! Haleluja!!!

In one of the later books, I forget which, Arya has a dream that she is Nymeria, hunting in the Riverlands.

Brienne and Tormund will make an interesting odd couple if they get together.

If R+L=J proves correct, we could see an interesting Stark and Targaryen alliance towards the end of the series.

As I said two episodes ago, The Return of The Starks! I can't wait till Arya sails back to Westeros.

I wonder what Jon would do. With Ramsey's letter the Wildlings are sure to be on Jon's side, but I suspect this whole "raising an army" thing is going to be a deception. Jon knows the big threat is not in the South. He would want to find a solution that preserve Bolton's 5,000 men to face the Night King's whitewalkers up North. Frankly, I'm at a loss what solution Jon would come up with.

What the heck is R+L=J? Or is that a spoiler?

It's a speculation among the more observant book readers about the true identity of Jon Snow's parents. Some say it's not Eddard Stark and some unknown tavern whore. It's such a big theory that there's actually a wikipedia page on it (read if you want to be spoiled).
