Funniest trek series

I have just started watching DS9 and am a little surprised by the humor. For example when Odo catches Quark using the replicator in Babel

Quark- How did you know?
Odo- You told me Rom fixed your replicator
Quark- So?
Odo- Roms an idiot

Funniest line I have ever seen in trek. So what series do you think was the funniest.

I certainly think DS9 had some of the funniest moments, although a lot of those are attributable to Quark and the other Ferengi, who were written as the comic relief for the series more often than not. No other Star Trek series had one of the main characters specifically designed for this purpose, at least as far as I can remember.

TNG was far more serious a show. Some of the Q episodes were pretty funny in parts, but they always had a far more serious message it seemed.

TOS certainly had its moments, especially some of the later movies, although scenes like Scotty knocking himself out by hitting his head in that maintenance tunnel in ST:V were never anything other than cringeworthy in my book.

Unintentionally? TOS or Enterprise. By design? Probably DS9. DS9 was a bit less stiff than TNG and Voyager and the humor often worked better partly because of that.

I think TOS is the funniest. I can't stop laughing everytime I think of Kirk using that show as a springboard for bedding all sorts of unsuspecting women!

DS9, with honorable mention to TOS. The others really had no sense of humor to speak of, aside from occasional Worfisms.
For example when Odo catches Quark using the replicator in Babel

Keep going, there are some very funny lines throughout the series!

Funniest as in the most intentionally humorous episodes I'd have to say TNG.

DS9 was the funniest. It was the darkest Trek show, but it also balanced this with some of the most hilarious moments of the franchise. The humour was often kind of a black humour. I found everything Garak said to be absolutely rip roaring. Worf had his moments, too. The humour didn't seem forced, usually. It grew naturally out of the characters.

Honourable mention to TOS. The exchanges between Spock and McCoy were always a good laugh.

TNG, VOY, and ENT's characters were often a bit too stiff, and the attempts at comedy felt a wee bit forced.

Neelix, maybe? I mean, I think he was supposed to be funny...

And there were probably as many serious Ferengi episodes as there were comedic ones... Family Business, Bar Association, Business as Usual, It's Only a Paper Moon, to name but a few. While I'm one of those people that did think DS9's Ferengi were funny, they weren't the show's only source of humour, or even necessarily the primary source. Garak's already been mentioned, but how about Weyoun? The scene (in an otherwise quite sombre episode) where he drinks poison and politely exclaims "Oh my, that is quite toxic!" gets me every time.

TOS or DSN. The humor in the others, especially TNG and VGr seemed to be forced more often than not.

DS9, definately. While the Ferengi could at times be too silly, I still enjoyed them. And we can't forget Garak, the source of some of the funniest lines of dialogue in all Trek. Odo was quite good with wry and witty one-liners as well.

TOS was more campy than funny.
TNG was stiff. Funny moments came across like a high school play.
DS9 had the most funny moments.
VOY was at a disadvantage with the premiss of being lost and in despair.
ENT had the funniest scene I remember with Trip being pregnant.

Definitely DS9. It had the most freedom to explore comedy in the sense that it was able to create completely comic episodes, with no serious B-plot. The Magnificent Ferengi and Looking for Par'mach in All the Wrong Places are two great examples, IMO. And even when they dipped into the tired holosuite-gone-wrong category, it resulted in quality eps like Doctor Bashir I Presume and Bada Bing Bada Bang, in which the writers were thoughtful enough to include an exchange between Sisko and Kasidy about how the Vic Fontaine program whitewashed the racial problems of that time period.

VOY got to do comic episodes as well, but for me they never seemed to pack the same punch. And it's hard to compare TOS to the TNG era because of the unintentionally campy tone to the older shows.

ENT may have been hilarious for all I know, I didn't watch enough of it to find out. ;)

I thought ENT had some hilarious episodes...Trip getting pregnant...Phlox coming out of hibernation in Two Days and Two Nights...and Extinction where Malcolm, Hoshi and Archer are running around like idiots

If there was a poll for best throat clearing, DS9 would win. Having said that, I'd put it in a dead heat with TOS for funniest. I saw this as a huge DS9 fan, BTW, LOL!

I'd say it was either TOS (once they found a good footing after the first two seasons) and DS9. Keep in mind that I'm only considering intentional comedy. Unintentional would be Voyager.

I'd have to go with DS9 overall, but I'm currently in the midst of a TNG rewatch, and I'm surprised by just how funny the show could be at times. Especially from the two characters with next-to-no appreciation of humour—Worf and Data.
