Frasier revival

I also visited the “Cheers” bar in Boston back awhile ago, and found it disappointing.

As to a “Frazier 2.0”, I dunno…

The Original really did fire on all thrusters, and I fear being disappointed with a new one.

Still, I won’t know until I see it…plus, no Niles?

I liked the Bull & Finch. It wasn't anywhere near as loud as @IMC Headquarters described. And I really liked the beer.

(Boston seems to have more taverns than any other city I've been to. I walked the Freedom Trail and it seems iike every seven feet there's another frickin' tavern! I'm surprised anyone in Boston still has a functioning liver. )

I tried the Set Bar once but the service was lousy. And as I said it doesn't look like the real set at all so what's the point?

As for the new show: Is there ANYONE returning from the previous version other than Kelsey Grammer?

Roz and Lilith, if I understand correctly, but not sure at what level?

Freedom Trail! Yes!
And no, you won’t go thirsty!

Like I I mentioned a few days ago, we know both Roz and Lilith are appearing at least one episode each. We know Niles will not be appearing. I don't think we've heard about Daphne one way or another. Likewise Bulldog but I don't expect him to return.

I will say that this video does go a good way to reassure me about this show. While don't get much beyond a handful of seconds here and there of actual footage, the tone and feeling of the overall production does feel right and I'm willing to gives this whole new cast a fair shake, just as we had to do with Frasier without Cheers in sight.

I get that they wanted to put the heavy spotlight on the new cast of characters, I do wish we could have heard from at least Bebe Neuwirth about returning. Fortunately, we did briefly glimpse her during one of the readings.

That said, I could've done without the hammy host.

Old guy coming back.
Brand new cast.
Token appearances from two previous cast members.
Promo special with a hammy host.

It's Picard all over again. ;)

so what you are saying is we will have a so so season 1, a so so season 2 with 2 different old stars appearing then a season 3 with full cast and Easter eggs galore ? To be fair I would put money on that

This won't be the last Fraser show. They will need to keep updating his life journey. After this series ends we will see the character brought back again in another 10 years or so. Now he will be living in a nursing home in Florida. After years of being divorced he and Lilith will have remarried and now live in the same retirement community. Watch as they enjoy each others company while dealing with the funny and eccentric residents also living in this retirement community.

I stuck on paramount plus last night looking for a film to watch and this popped up under the “new to PP” section, so I thought it had actually begun streaming. It was only the trailer, curses.

I guess at the end of the day, the series will either sink or swim based on how well audiences take to the new cast. For me, it's incredibly difficult to imagine a new show working so well when there are such big shoes to fill by the rest of the cast. At least the original producers are all involved, so that's comforting.

Eeek, the line about it feeling like placing Frasier in a generic CBS-style sitcom doesn't bode well to me, but it's also the way I had felt upon seeing the trailer.

The more I read, the higher my hopes get. It's a risky premise, taking a legacy (I think it's safe to call him that) character, uproot him again and plant him back in familiar but new territory. Much like they did with the first series, I think it's only right to pepper in guest appearances from the series that came before. If NuFrasier succeeds, I'm sure we'll see more of the old cast show up from time to time. I'd bet Niles and Daphne will eventually too, especially with their son a regular character.
