That is why I have left this open so far. ;)

When I saw him come back as an obvious dual, I wasn't sure what TPTB were going to decide. So I decided to leave this thread open in case he convinced Bonz to let him back.

It is not my call, however, in any way whether to let him back or not. If he comes back, this thread will be here for him, as long as he behaves. If he does not come back, then I will eventually close it since the current discussion by others ABOUT JimmyBob's status is not really something we need to be continuing here in the DS9 forum.

My suggestion is for JimmyBob to take this matter up with Bonz via email, if it is his wish to return. I have no idea what she will decide....but that is the only course he really has, at this point.

    Thanks.

Whom Mods destroy, they first make mad?

    Hmm.

Maybe "Whom mods destroy, first make them mad." ;)

Well, I'd like to see him come back and finish what he started, but that's obviously not up to me or any of us. I have the first disc of Season One on the way from Netflix. I've watched DS9 here and there, but I've never seen every episode (and most of the ones I did see weren't really in any logical order), so it'll be interesting to see how my views on the show match up with JimmyBob's. :techman:

I love seeing old things through new eyes. Whether it is music, books, traveling, movies, or episodes of a TV show, walking through it with someone who is new to the subject is so much fun. It is a chance to relive that first time. I've gone through Farscape several times with new viewers. :)

This has become my favorite thread on the forum lately, so I hope it can continue. Seasons 1 through 3 are good, but there is some pretty exciting stuff coming up throughout the rest of the show.
Changeling infiltration, the Klingon wars, root beer, Starfleet coups, Iconian gateways, Weyoun, Damar, Ziyal...
and that's all just in season 4!

It's been so long since I saw these episodes for the first time that it's neat to see it through new and different eyes.

Meh. I've certainly lost most of my interest for lurking/popping in at this subforum with the alternating kowtowing/draconism.

Well, if that's the way you feel, then so be it.

However, until a couple of weeks ago, I ran this forum the EXACT SAME WAY for EIGHT YEARS. And that is the way I hope to keep running it.

For a two week period, we had an unfortunate hiccup that occurred as a result of a situation that we had never had in here before. But a lot of what happened was outside my control, and please know that I worked my ASS off trying to defuse the situation - mostly behind the scenes where you could not even see. But I assure you - NONE of it was very pleasant for me either, and NOW it seems that as a legacy of the whole mess, I have been left holding the 'bad guy' bag (as your post indicates, for example), despite the fact that I was doing everything I could to fix what was going on in a way that would be amenable to everyone. As it turned out, it was an utterly thankless job with no solution that was going to make everyone happy, but I did the absolute best I could under the circumstances. Clearly, however, 'the best I could' did not measure up to many people's standards - including yours. And for that, I am sorry. :(

My fervent hope, however, is that it is over now and we can move forward & return to normal good-natured posting and mature debate in here. But if you want to blanket label the moderation in here "draconian" based on a TWO WEEK period out of the EIGHT YEARS I've been mod of this forum...then I guess there is nothing for it. All I can say is 'Thanks for your support (NOT)'. Your post has been a HUGE help & comfort to me right now, when I could really use some support from SOMEONE - especially the long-time posters in here, in terms of returning to our regularly scheduled programming.

Now, could everyone PLEASE stop discussing the topic of forum moderation, and get back to DS9? If you have a further complaint, please take it to PM.

After this post, I plan to close this thread for the time being since, as I stated before, the discussion of the last couple of pages is really not a topic for this forum. However, if Jimmy Bob ends up being let back, I will reopen it for him to continue his reviews, unless he elects to begin a new thread in it's stead.
