Films that tingle

What films have you watched that just give you that tingly feeling inside? ya know, that tingly feeling you get when it's just so incredibly great that you'll always love it and it's so great you want to own it on DVD just so you know you've got it? the types of films where it can never ever be beaten and a remake would be a dumb idea. What films have a special place in you heart?

You can go back as far as you want, don't be scared to name films from the 1980's etc etc it doesn't have to be newish movies.

Pink Floyd's The Wall.

I remember going to see it in the theaters when it was first released, and being totally wowed by it. I was in high school when it first came out, back when the videocassette was a new thing and CDs were just starting to appear on the consumer's horizon, but vinyl still ruled. When it was finally released onto VHS a few years later, it was at rental prices (~$84.99). It wasn't until 1988 that it was finally released for the mass public to buy, and I got my copy the day it hit the stores.

And yes, I have also gotten the film on DVD as well since then.

Recent movies for me are Batman Begins and the Dark Knight. Dave is an ongoing tingly movie. Ghostbusters. The American President. I'll have to think about this.

I love Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Story. I will weep if they ever decide to remake them.

Apocalypse Now
Amelie
The Abyss
Rain Man
Alien
Beauty and the Beast
Blade Runner
The Game

If I pop in HEAT, I tingle, because I know I'm going to be watching the greatest crime drama ever made.

Well in another 10 months we'll be in 2010 so a movie from 1980 will be 30 years old. So yes, i'd say 1980's movies are old. ;)

You can't be serious. What about films from the 20s, 30s etc? All those from classic Hollywood?
