Films that tingle

1980s movies are old now? :wtf:

I love Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Story. I will weep if they ever decide to remake them.

Well in another 10 months we'll be in 2010 so a movie from 1980 will be 30 years old. So yes, i'd say 1980's movies are old. ;)

You can't be serious. What about films from the 20s, 30s etc? All those from classic Hollywood?

To be fair, Scarface kind of sucks nowadays, though still far less than DePalma's remake.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Before Sunset

Boomerang (yes the Eddie Murphy film. It's very personal to me)

Purple Rain

Casablanca

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

Those are Ancient films.

Besides, I never actually called the films of the 1980's old that was you, I merely said (if you recap my original post) "you don't have to post about 'newish' films". But other than that nitpick, I DO think films of the 1980s are old. ;)

I forgot to mention Wall-E which gave me butterflies throughout as if I were on a first date with the girl of my dreams.

What films have you watched that just give you that tingly feeling inside? ya know, that tingly feeling you get when it's just so incredibly great that you'll always love it and it's so great you want to own it on DVD just so you know you've got it? the types of films where it can never ever be beaten and a remake would be a dumb idea. What films have a special place in you heart?

You can go back as far as you want, don't be scared to name films from the 1980's etc etc it doesn't have to be newish movies.

Goodfellas.

Arsenic & Old Lace

Yes!

Aunt Abby, how can I believe you? There are twelve men down in the cellar and you admit you poisoned them.

Yes, I did... but you don't think I'd stoop to telling a fib?!?

I'd also nominate my all-time favorite movie, Harvey (which also featured Josephine Hull).

Oh... and No Time for Sergeants! Classic.
