Looks like regular Star Trek to me.

No! It looks like Disco and Kurtzman's other filth, which any warm blooded Trekkie knows is NOT regular Star Trek! My angry hate filled YouTube rant is going to go into full detail about all the flaws with this scene and how they spell doom for the franchise. As a preview of what to expect, "origami chicken" is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
Nah, but seriously, good clip, I enjoyed it. And yes, I actually like "origami chicken."
I hope there were some edits there that don't depict it exactly as it will appear in the episode. I had a lot of trouble following what was happening. It had the pacing of a poorly done "previously on..." segment until the part with bad guy traipsing around the room.
The Athena looks gorgeous. The hull being a lattice of windows (possibly holographic?) is really cool. All the performances were great. Holly Hunter is commanding, Paul Giamatti is having the time of his life and it was so much fun seeing the Doctor again. I like the implication from the science officers line about the anomaly or whatever it is being a great opportunity for the cadets to do some learning, that the Athena's mission is to give the kids practical real world experience. I also like that the Cadets are in real jeopardy.

Yes. Sometimes those are unedited cuts from the final episode, and sometimes they are more like trailers with portions cut out.
looks fine to me. Looks like Trek . With added Picardo, Hunter, and Giamatti. Bring it on !
It would be cool if Ake was wearing 32nd century glasses with the temples detached from the rims and lenses

What if you weren't originally overweight but then you put on weight during your career? At what point should they say, "Too fat!" and drum you out of the service?
