Episodes that are generally considered "bad" that you actually like

I'll cop to being genuinely spooked by "And the Children Shall Lead" when I was a kid.
Ugh, yes. Still slightly creepy.

Masks has gotten several mentions but I'll throw that one in first. I genuinely didn't realize it wasn't appreciated as much as I enjoyed it.

I also enjoy Rascals from TNG and find it an interesting change of pace for the crew. I get why that one isn't popular though.

I find "Rascals" to be somewhat poignant early on and rather amusing later on ("He's my number one dad!"); it's just the dreadful hijacking of the ship and arguably the dubious technobabble (but at least it's the plot mover and not the plot solver here) that drags the episode down.

The highjacking was definitely the low point, but the kid actors carry well, and I love the final scene. So, despite the ridiculous plot point, it is still a fun episode for me.

There's a fair amount of disdain for "Masks" out there...

I didn't think "Rules of Acquisition" was considered bad. It has the first mention of The Dominion, and I think it's one of the better Quark episodes. I always hoped Pel would show up again (and she does in a short story IIRC).

I remember those mentions of The Dominion in the second season of DS9 and the crew looking at each other in a startled way! A bit like how the children in Chronicles of Narnia react when they first hear of Aslan but in a much less joyous way!

... kind of guessing on what peeps think are "bad":

VOY The Fight (flabby Chak with his shirt off is still... Chak with his shirt off)
VOY Threshold (bomb makeup effects- good nod to body horror)
VOY Fair Haven (Seamus is amusing and I like seeing some of the crew interact in the pub setting)

TNG The Naked Now (rehash yeah, but seeing the crew's barriers come down is always a welcome sight, i.e. Data and Yar getting it on)
TNG Lonely Among Us (Data in his Holmes persona and I like the tension among the delegates)

...probably some ENT from s1 too, but I need to rewatch those to jog my recall.

"The Alternative factor"

I think sometimes it's just trendy to hate on certain episodes. Like you're not part of the fandom until you have hated on certain episodes.

The nonclip stuff in Shades of Grey was cool, I like the scene with the predatory vine trying to infect Data and Geordi with the virus.

I will defend "Catspaw" with my dying breath.

It's the STAR TREK Halloween special, written by the author of PSYCHO no less. What's not to love?

I never knew Catspaw was considered a bad episode. It's gimmicky, but in the same way that Piece of the Action and Patterns of Force are.

I don't know if Facets(DS9) is considered a bad one but it's worth rewatching just to see how frickin' hilarious Avery Brooks is as Joran, the evil Dax host.
