Dune 2018 (19,20,21...)

I liked the trailer, I didn't love it.

Sometimes less is more. I think they tried to pack a little too much into it. I also really disliked the music.

It's fine though. My faith is not shaken. Still can't wait to see it.

Slightly different vibe than I was expecting, but still very awesome. I think I'll dig this quite a lot!

They're definitely playing it safe, every trailer trope of the last 10 years is in there.

Still, I watched it over and over again on a loop and am crazy excited

I still find this too staid, maybe more interesting if it was later books. Somebody wake up Chalamet.

My biggest problem with the miniseries is how, instead of being filled with religious fervour, the Fremen just looked and sounded mostly bored while chanting "Muad'dib".

The main cast have somber roles. They are staid characters. But in the orgy I want the Fremen going wild. I want the sequel to have the absolute insanity of a death cult in the throes of religious ecstasy. I want drums made of human skin with Harkonnen tattoos visible being played while worshippers literally whip themselves into a frenzy screaming for their Lisan Al Gaib.

Looks interesting. Hopefully theaters will be open by the time this is released.

I haven't seen Lynch's version in years. But I understand the problems with that film can be at least partially attributed to studio interference (and that's probably been addressed already, somewhere in the last 77 pages).

They didn't have a date in the trailer or the cast interview. It's not coming out this Dec 18.

I think most of the theaters opened last weekend for Tenet.
Villeneuve and the cast also did a press Q&A to go along with the trailer, here's IGN's take on it.
