Jadzia's role had diminished, her lines in the war seasons were about how to please Worf? More dating banter between her and Kira-which was strange because Kira became less and less shallow as seasons progressed. Sisko wasn't getting much advice from her anymore but now was being more of a mentor or confidant to her. There's no point in having a science person who doesn't have much scientific material or claiming to have multiple lifetimes to be an advisor but was lacking wisdom as the seasons went on. By season 6, Bashir could take the reigns of the science stuff since he was revealed to be a superman, and much of the mentor role had been divided to Sisko's dad and Jake. I never liked Jadzia as the helmsman of the Defiant since she should be doing her job than moonlighting as a pilot, and when all of her precious elements taken away from her because the actress wasn't comfortable playing the character properly then what was the point of having her around??? I mean, a stand in could represent the helmsman role on the Defiant with no lines while the rest of the cast can represent their characters accurately and properly.
So Jadzia was just there, to be beautiful and say a terrible joke from time to time and show how tough she was by fighting men larger than she was in the cliched television/movie trope, but losing everything I loved about her; the facets Terry, struggled by her own confession, brought to the table in the 1st 3 seasons of the series. Death was imminent. Becker was more to her liking.
