Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

The familiar sounding music; Batman Begins/Dark Knight.
While I agree it shares some notes and tones of Batman Begins and DK, I can't place which track it would be. Are you sure about this one?

I guess it does sound a bit like the BB/TDK music, yet it still seems different. It's great, no matter what it is. I'm still hoping that it's part of the real score.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

this star trek movie may be the best ever if its half as good as what i just watched.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

Two words:

"Holy fuck!"

That is all.

edit: Damn you, Cogley!

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

It sounds like something out of a Hans Zimmer score.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

At about 46 seconds in, BTW, it looks like Spock crashes his little timeship smack into the hull of the Narada.
I noticed that. Perhaps its on "auto pilot"? Or Spock goes out with a bang, though it strikes me as a rather futile attempt to cripple that huge "engine of destruction".

Sharr

I'm still having a hard time catching that one, and I've watched it now close to a dozen times. I just can't spot Old Spock's ship.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I can do those things because I'm not a hero, like Nero. I destroyed that planet. That's what I can be."

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

Unfortunately, this link does not lend itself to screencaps. Though, I suppose it would be inadvisable to post them at this point anyway.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

Proctus, get the slider control thing up at the bottom and watch for it starting at the T-45 Second mark. Very fast, comes in from left to right.

Thanks Devon, let me give that a shot.

Still didn't see it, maybe I'll have better luck after the HD version goes up at the official site Monday.

If that scene is what I think it is,

..Spock goes out with a 1000 times bigger bang than Kirk did. Just like this movie will, compared to all other Treks.

Re: New Trailer (Unofficially) Online!

I downloaded it. I can make captures of it but will refrain for another day.
Refraining would be a good idea, particularly since you could have been warned for all of the ahead-of-release trailer screencaps you knowingly posted back in November (which, by the way, I had to bust my butt to remove in a hurry from several threads.) Now, I'm pretty sure that I've said more than once that no one should post links to this trailer before it's officially released for download by Paramount. I've removed the two posted by Kaych.

Just so we're clear here:

If anyone posts either links to a bootlegged copy of the trailer or posts screencaps made from the new trailer (or links to same) before the official release by Paramount, I can almost certainly guarantee that there will be a warning in it for whosoever would be unwise enough to do so. We do not need to receive a cease-and-desist order from Paramount's legal department, not even an unofficial harrumph of one.

Anyone who has seen the trailer by legitimate means in the theater and wishes to discuss it may do so in the "I just saw the new trailer! (Spoilers? Well, yes!)" thread started by NCC-1701.

But no pictures. No links. Not until they're officially released Monday morning (U.S. Pacific time zone) by Paramount.
