Doing a Daedalus Class Variant :)

Modeling the windows in the sphere section is making me want to bash my head into the wall LOL

I'll get there eventually..

I'd rather see a probe/torpedo launcher in place of the toothpaste cap in front of the secondary hull. Or a "ten forward" observation lounge / crew mess / replimat.

Nah, that is always traditionally where the deflector dish goes, and that's where it'll stay here as well :)

Ok, so I managed to survive the first set of windows....

Thanks! Btw, does anyone have any reference on what an enterprise or TOS era photon torpedo launcher looks like?

Nice. But where's the shuttlebay?
Not yet modeled :) that hole in the back of the secondary hull will contain it shortly.

As for a larger version of that render, I haven't rendered one yet, but I probably will when I'm closer to completion on the ship. Render times with all that bouncing light is quite high haha

I love this. It's beautiful!

Just one question though: You have the bridge as being atop the spheroid primary hull, similar to TOS era ships? Isn't the bridge on the Daedalus class meant to be in the front of the primary hull?

I don't mean this to be a serious nitpick. I love it anyway!

Agreed about loving it, but regarding the location of the bridge: who says? I know I put it on the top of mine back in 2005, and I've seen several others with that arrangement. Are you thinking about the Discovery from 2001?

As far as I've ever seen, the bridge is always at the top of the sphere in any of the blueprints and model photos of the daedalus class that I've ever seen.
