Does anyone know how Beyond is tracking for its opening weekend?

So again the tracking was way off for Ghostbusters...from $56-63 million. It made $46 million. let's hope Beyond can do better.

Surprised there's not been more data released in this final week, I really hope the numbers increase

Well, at least it looks like word of mouth will definitely won't be a problem for Beyond.

I'm still optimistic STB will open in the mid-$80m for the 3 day weekend (Fri-Sun).

Keep an eye on the Thurs evening screenings.

If more than $5m, then we should be on the way to a solid opening.

I think it ultimately comes down to how many people feel like going to the movies this weekend. With last week's big picture under-performing (and unlikely to have a lot of spillover) and the good marks the film is showing the week leading up to the release, I think it will see a lot of walk-up traffic.

And one thing to consider for the US is it's supposed to be hot across much of the country this weekend. Theaters are air conditioned.

Hopefully the good reviews and word of mouth will help it out some. and if they can get something trending on social media out of comic con in the next few days.

The star trek FB page is promoting it's rotten tomatoes percentage now.

I read a report today saying they expect $70 million for the opening weekend but it was not from Box Office Mojo and I haven't seen it anywhere else so am not buying it. Recent buzz has me thinking the original $50-60 million might be a little low so anything above $60 million would be a bonus even if behind ST09 & STID opening weekends. The strong word of mouth Beyond is likely to see might help it have some real legs so beating STID domestic gross is a possibility and the overseas gross will be bigger than STID for sure.

I just saw Star Trek: Beyond today. I intend to see it again at least twice more at the theater with different people. I fully believe it'll be the top grossing film of the year.

Wait til you've seen it before you're certain of that. I'm just offering a humble opinion. The movie is amazing. It feels like real Star Trek. It certainly looks and feels better than the previous two films. All of the main cast gets to shine.
