She was always an assassin. That much was clear through the end of the TV series. She was not so much powerful as extremely fast, precise, and just a bit psychic---enough to anticipate an opponent's move, anyway.

Oh, and if this is what 12-year-old girls look like where you live.....

I'm still going by how she looked in Firefly. I've never seen the Sarah TV show. She certainly doesn't look like a full-grown woman in Firefly.

Of course not, because she was a 19-year-old actress playing a 17-year-old girl with mental problems, with appropriate performance and makeup to sell that character.
