Coward :PI don't hate it though (nor do I fall into the trap of lionizing it now after harshly hating it then)
Coward :P
Nostalgia blinds me a lot of time when it comes to Enterprise, being my first Star Trek, and the whole time period being exciting, but I admit Im far more forgiving of it because of how harshly the anti-ENT crowd was and is.
Shhh! Don't give them any ideas!I'm surprise ENT hasn't received the SW prequel treatment yet

I appreciated those parts a lot, too. Its the same reason I own even the most obscure tech manuals. I would rather hear about the normal, run-of-the-mill things than the activities of some main character."normal" shipboard life stuff
I mean, they could very easily. Use Zefram Cochrane as one character, and Archer's dad, as well as all the Earth politics of building up a new space force program post First Contact.I'm surprise ENT hasn't received the SW prequel treatment yet

Oh, it definitely has, in that it is often times treated as more "Star Trek" than current Trek installments, and expected to be respected as much as things like TNG or DS9.I more meant fans just pretending it's now good when they hated it before just because they hate the new stuff whether that's good or not
whose performance as Archer I have never enjoyed and which I have come to dislike even more as the years have gone by.

And that's just the way of things. People forget the sheer unbridled hatred unleashed upon various things now accepted: SW Prequels, ENTERPRISE, etc.) and expect people to just go along with it now that it's always accepted.
I'm aware that I am kind of an odd person when it comes to my memory, but these things stand out to me as less than accurate recounts of how Enterprise was actually taken.
Performance, writing or both?
Performance. Bakula consistently finds the worst possible line reads.
Wouldn't the directors bear some responsibility for that as well?
