I'm now down 50lbs since November. On Friday I head up north for a week-long trip, involving a LOT of booze. I wonder how much I'll gain back?
So, I'm planning on running my first 5K in November. I've got my training plann all mapped out.
Good for you, CD! If you haven't found it already, MayMyRun.com is an excellent resource when you're running outside. I love the map/photo hybrid feature that lets you draw the route you plan to run right on aerial photos of your neighborhood (so you don't even have to stick with named roads ... I do a lot of cutting through fields & such, myself). That's the only way I'm sure of how far I'm running.
Back to the gym today ... we'll see how my shoulder is doing.

Congrats & good luck! I've found that if you do lapse and put on a few pounds, it's easier to lose them if you do it right away ... after a few months they seem to become a more permanent part of you. (Speaking from experience.)

How in the world could anyone have time for that? Are you all unemployed?![]()
I'm sorry to hear that, CD. I had a similar experience with the treadmill some months back ... I was doing fine on the road (doing over 4 miles), but then I ran 3 miles on the treadmill one day because it was too hot outside, and the next day I was practically crippled.Well, fuck.I went with his advice and did a 30 minute run Tuesday on the treadmill. I've had knee pain ever since. And I don't know if it was due to the treadmill, my shoes, my gait, or weak quads.
I still have tender knees. The doctor told me it was too much too soon. I'm going to have to drop out of the running training.
