Good luck. For most people, it's nearly impossible to both of those at the same time.BMR is more accurate is a good place to start. Generally speaking, you should lower your calories 500-700 calories below the resulting total (if it is accurate) to lose weight. Here's a calculator:

I plugged in my numbers and compared it to what I was planning on eating throughout the day and I am over on protein and under on fat and carbs.
According to the calculator I should be taking in 2800 calories a day with 185g of protein, 47 grams of fat and 413 grams of carbs. My meal plan would give me 1900 calories with 220 grams of protein, 27 grams of fat and 185 grams of carbs. This is broken up into 4 meals, a protein shake after my workout and one before going to bed.
Should I be adjusting my numbers to fit? I want to lose weight while still increasing lean muscle mass.
Sorry to hear about the shoulder TJ, hope it's just minor.
4 days in the gym this week and another softball practice. I tried to do some infield(always wanted to play second base), but I suck. Outfield on the other hand is all good. Season starts in two weeks.
