Did anyone get a Windows 10 invite?

Huh. I just had the same one, though my PC restarted fine.
For a moment I read that as "my PC restarted on fire" and I was about to recommend shutting it down.

As for the BSOD, I'm thinking Microsoft dropped an update that has done goofed somewhere. I'm getting emails, all day today, from friends and family who have Windows 10, telling me they have a crop of errors popping up. I'm helping as I can, but right now only Microsoft seems to have any answers, and that answer is, unfortunately "who knows".

Woah that's not good.

Have you been able to get things up and running again?

Huh. I just had the same one, though my PC restarted fine.

Mine resolved itself. I let the blue screen gather information as it had one of those counters counting to 100% and once the machine restarted it worked without further issues, and has ever since.

We did have a power outage yesterday due to bad weather and I was sure it would not restart properly but it did not return any errors which surprised me.

Ah. Well that's good.

Hmm.

Windows 10 is more robust then Windows 7 when it comes to power outages. I didn't even see the screen you usually get saying "windows did not shut down properly" like it used to do on Windows 7

Ah. I only ran into one BSOD on my old computer and it was on XP. I've had some decent luck on Windows 7 so far. Glad that they seemed to have beefed it up for 10, but I'm not willing to upgrade to it just yet.

guys if I install windows 10 then remove it, say compatibility issues with games. then say at later date want to re install it again ,will the windows 10 invite come through again or is it gone for good

You can install it again. The license is good for that PC as long as you have it, unless you change a major component like a motherboard (which they consider a new PC).

Downloaded it yesterday. Took the whole evening. Not quite sure what to make of the design, though.

Don't mention windows 10 update to me,i lost count on how much money I had to spend to get my computer fix cause if Microsoft keep sending updates for windows 10 for my computer which isn't compatible for window 10,the updates jsu t can loading and cant use the computer(I now have a laptop with windows 10)

Just found out about another 'dear' update that Microsoft is trying to get people to install, KB
3139929. It incorporates Microsoft adware into your system via a worked in update, KB 3146449, and there's no way to avoid it, outside of not updating to KB 3139929.

Dammit Microsoft. Found it on my laptop and unchecked it immediately. Nothing like putting people's safety at risk for your own gain. Ugh.

They're being quite insistent on the Windows 10 upgrades. I get that they don't want another "I've been using Windows XP for 13 years" user base, but I think they should let Windows 7 and 8 retire gracefully without pushing 10 on others. When the time comes, they'll switch.

Exactly. Let people take their time.

I also don't feel like Windows 10 should be forced. There are just so many things (hardware and software) that aren't compatible with it.

Yep. Let people find replacements for their programs if they can that are compatible first.

It's the app that notifies you to get Windows 10, and will keep notifying you until you do it. It may even download the OS in the background and wait to install it, that is if you don't already have Windows 10.
I don't have it and I don't think I want it. My computer is six years old, almost 7...

"He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."

I updated my work machine to Windows 10. I'm actually liking it a lot. The above paragraph is, of course, not relevant. ;)

I have a curious problem.

I purchased a D-Link branded wifi adapter so I could connect my phone to my PC and use that instead of my modem and use my mobile data. It did work for all of 30 minutes and then after that Whatever I have tried I just can't connect back to the phone. It just won't do it. It works fine with the wifi part of my modem / router but just won't connect back to my phone anymore..

I am heading into the city later today to maybe try and purchase another one in the hope that it might resolve my issue, but it's just bugging me why this one won't do what it did do when I first set it up.. And there's no way to reset the device.
