I never made note of them. Just immediately put them on ignore after I looked them up. I suppose at some point I could go back and itemize them, but my cycles are thin right now - reprinting the whole house for a big move in June.
I don't think it will force you to upgrade once it is no longer free. How would that even work? would it hold a gun to you and demand your wallet?
Besides I've been using 10 since the release candidate came out. It's just as good as Windows 7. I haven't had one issue with it. All of my programs work, I have a start button. I put the icons I use most on the desktop as usual, I pin stuff to the taskbar as usual. It works fine.
I know that Launchbox works on 10.I know, but forcing people to move like this (meaning now it's no longer free SO soon), isn't making it any easier, nor any more appealing. I have programs that I'd like to keep on my laptop.
Such as Launchbox, so I can play older games like Oregon Trail on it. I'm not sure if it's compatible with 10.
It's nice that it works on your end, but there's a lot of stuff up in the air on my end. I also have Gimp 2.8 on mine that I use and I'm not sure if it'll work.
Along with other programs.
It's just a lot of stuff to check and double check and I have enough on my plate at this time.
I know that Launchbox works on 10.
Also, Gimp 2.8 works on 10.
Windows 10 loses the Charms bar, and has a more classic Start Menu. Honestly, they didn't have to give it away, but they don't want a repeat of XP's incredibly long service life to happen again, hence the free upgrade. Microsoft also has a compatibility checker to make sure your programs will work before you decide to install, so there's that option if you think it might work for you.
I have grown to like Windows 10.
You will too. You will adapt![]()
Yeah, I have Paintshop Pro X6, and one of the most irritating, frustrating things to do is hunting down the key any time I have to do a reinstall. Of course, there used to be the option to log into Corel's website and have it access your account info there, but X6 didn't give me that offer this time.Whew. I still have some other programs to check on my end. I'm just a bundle of nerves right now.
Yea. I'm still not entralled with it.
Found out about that. One other issue I have is finding the keys for some of my programs. I have Corel Paintshop Pro X4 installed. But I have no idea where I put the key for it along with the rest.
Nothing like having to hunt for stuff.
No I won't. I'll put up with it.
Have you had programs uninstall with it? I've heard of people running into that issue.

Why do you need the keys for your software? If you do the Windows 10 upgrade all of your software and data will still be installed. And no, Windows 10 didn't uninstall anything I have.
At the risk of sounding condescending, I started trying to make a point of copying all my product keys into Evernote. Just in case.
I find product keys a pain in the ass. Software should be able to do this stuff without user intervention.
I mean how hard would it be to have an auto generated hash for the key for each particular machine or setup?
If Windows itself can do it why not other software?
