Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5

Awesome, Gary has been one of the best parts of the last season, and he's been in almost every episode the last season or two, so it makes sense to promote Adam Tsekhman to a full time regular. Really looking forward to finding out about his backstory.

They should give Gary a power. I think they should evolve the character a little and give him some new stuff to play. I think it would be funny if they went Barclay in season 4 of TNG and make him the most evolved person on the show but somehow he still ends up screwing up all the time.

The announcement also said that they're going to reveal his backstory, which I am very interested in. It sounds like it might end up being pretty out there, which would be standard for Legends.

He was rocketed to Earth as an infant where was almost run over by a truck of radioactive bats.

I'd be interested to hear how he got involved with the Time Bureau. Was he personally recruited by Rip? In fact, I'd love more info in general on how Rip put that whole thing together. Where did he get all those employees and where did they all end up going? How did the Bureau get incorporated into the U.S. government?

And when the Time Bureau was located in Star City were they aware of the number of times the city was almost destroyed? Did they ever take any actions against any of the local supervillains? Or maybe since they had knowledge of the future I guess they knew it would all work out.

Well since they are doing aliens this upcoming season I would make a guess that Gary might be from space. What if he is from Krypton but for some plot reason he never got powers like Superman and Supergirl.

Since he was a part of the Time Bureau, I'm thinking time traveler is a lot more likely.

He could be both. A alien from the future. Or even the past. What if Gary was one of the aliens captured at Roswell. I don't watch Roswell on the CW but I bet they could even work a joke in their with that as well.

It sounds like there is a pretty good chance we won't be seeing the main universe's Captain Cold again.
Wentworth Miller announced that he will no longer be playing straight characters, and since the original version of Cold was straight that means we probably won't be seeing him again. But the Earth-X version, Citizen Cold, was established as gay, so there is a chance he could show back up.

My hope has always been that for the final episode of the show, the current lineup of the team (whatever that ends up being) would have to fight the season 1 version of the team. Always knew it was unlikely and I guess it's even more unlikely now.

That being said, I'd be perfectly happy to see Citizen Cold return any time.

Maybe Captain Cold just wasn't out yet? Or, hey, the whole universe got rebooted last year and a bunch of things changed. The Diggles have both their kids now, somehow. Superman and Lois have two teenage boys, somehow. So just make Snart-Prime gay -- why not?

After I wrote my post I realized I can't remember if we ever actually saw the main universe's Cold express interest in a woman.

This is one of those "that's the stupidest thing someone said". Geeez, they're ACTORS not autobiographics. You play a part, not yourself.

Did you actually read the story and what he said? He explained why he feels the way he does, and it makes perfect sense to me.

There was certainly some sexual tension between him and Sara back in season 1, but the easy fix would be to say he's bisexual (like she is). Miller says he doesn't want to play straight characters anymore, not that he only wants to play homosexuals.
