Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5

This show is so ridiculous. Future Man is a more serious show than this.
We’ve lost another character. Sara is the only original member left. I hope Rip comes back. Hopefully in this post Crisis era he is the son of Booster.

What about Gideon?
:shifty:
Like I said, there are three original members left. Sara, Gideon, and Rory.

I think this show is a perfect example as to how the Arrowverse needs a refresher. Cast changes would be ok if the newer characters were as strong as the departing ones. It just hasn't been that way. The show feels tired.

But that said, I want to commend Tala Ashe's work this season. I never liked Zari--until this year. She was bland and annoying to me. But Zari 2.0 was actually entertaining to me. I liked her a lot, and when Zari 1.0 came back, Ashe did a very good job playing two different people.

I think they should have had more discussion regarding 1.0 going back into the totem, and the dueling timelines story idea deserved more than a 10 second afterthought, but she stood out in an otherwise not so great season.

I had a feeling they were setting Charlie up for a departure. There was something climactic about her story, if for no other reason than that I wasn't sure she could come back from her betrayal of the Legends. Though I'm glad that she did redeem herself after all. And it was nice that she "beat" Lachesis by forgiving her.

And Charlie's song at the end was a punk-rock version of the Mr. Parker's Cul-de-sac theme! This show is insane!

I'm not surprised that they had Zari 1.0 go back and kept the new version. They wouldn't have just thrown out all that new character development. But at least Nate has his memories of her back.

I was kind of hoping Astra might stick around in Charlie's place, but it seems she was moving on too. I wonder if even Constantine will stick around, since they've needed to focus on magic threats these past two seasons to justify his involvement, and it looks like next season will be about aliens (please tie into Supergirl please tie into Supergirl).

So the cliff hanger reminded me of something: I seem to recall there being news around the time of Crisis that Harewood was going to switch over to Legends. If this was the case, then I assume Rona caused a change of plans.

Has there been anything else about this recently? If aliens are on the docket for next season, seems like a good job for J'onn J'onzz.

That was a really good finale.
The Loom watches was kind of a fun take on smart watches.
The History Museum filled with bad ideas was a lot of fun.
It was nice to see everyone in their superhero costumes again, we don't seem to see them very often any more.
I was a little disappointed that Zari 1.0 went back into the totem since she's my preferred Zari, but at least she's still there so she could potentially come back out at some point.
This really was a great storyline for Charlie, and they way they tied things up was pretty nice. I really liked the last scene between her and her sister, it's always a nice change of pace when they find a way to defeat any enemy that doesn't necessarily involve punching.
I'm sad to Astra go too, I was really starting to like her.

By the way, this episode plays merry hell with Arrowverse continuity if you think about it. The Legends didn't erase the timeline where the Fates took over -- it still happened, they just destroyed the Loom and jumped forward 4 months and then defeated Lachesis. But I profoundly doubt any of the other shows will acknowledge a period of several months during which the Fates ruled the world.

Well, "everyone" being basically just White Canary and Steel.

So apparently next season will take an '80s B-movie approach to aliens. I was hoping for something based more in DC mythology, which this show has gotten really disconnected from. At this point, the only characters who actually have comics counterparts are Constantine (assuming he sticks around), Heat Wave, and Steel, though Sara is an offshoot of Black Canary and Zari and Behrad are very indirectly based on Isis. And DC has a bunch of alien species the Arrowverse hasn't explored yet. Plus it'd be an opportunity to strengthen post-Crisis ties by building a shared cosmology with Supergirl.

Yeah, I was hoping we'd get some new comics aliens, but it sounds like we won't be.
Entertainment Weekly has also posted their post finale interview with Phil Klemmer.
Some interesting tidbits:
This is definitely Maisie Richardson-Seller's last episode, and it was her choice to leave, she has new parts of her career she wants to focus on. He said they knew a year in advance that she was leaving, so they built her arc with that endgame in mind.
They chose to keep Zari 2.0 around because they wanted a chance to get deeper into her relationship with Behrad.

The question should have never been "Wich Zari?" but "Is Tala up to the challenge of keeping both?' Just going by what was said in the article, it seems like the writers failed to recognize the unique story potential keeping both around presented. That's concerning.

That's not how I read it. They saw the potential, but also saw that, on a practical level, it would be an ongoing production headache week after week. Sometimes the practical realities of filmmaking (budgets, schedules, etcetera) inevitably trump a cool idea.

And if I was Tala's agent, I'd sure expect her to get a pay raise for playing two regulars every week. :)

Nothing to do with the writers and everything to do with the actress (lot of extra work for her) but more importantly production costs.

The Legends using Shake Weights and a pogo stick to fight Encores from Hell to the tune of "Thong Song" by Sisqó. Fates, I love this show!
