The only thing I really dislike is that Superman looks like he's only had his pubes for a few weeks. An older Superman looks much cooler to me. A teenie-bopper prat flying around with godly superpowers is just terrifying.

As I recall, that is Night Girl. She had superpowers but only in the dark. She was a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

I did look! I have a cursory knowledge of most of the Legionnaires, including Night Girl, but I couldn't find any images that matched. Most of them showed the costume I already know, the black one with the beehive.

Since all the versions of Supes are much younger than me now, I've got no more problem with a twentysomething than a thirtysomething. We're never going to get another one on film who's as old as thirty, anyway.

Never is a long time. Perhaps it is just an illusion but it seems to me that the last few years have seen older actors taking back the starring roles they would have been more likely to be up for a decade earlier. I imagine it will continue to cycle back and forth to varying degrees. 40-something is the new 30.

I googled "Mike grell night girl" and found this. It confirms that is, in fact, Night Girl.

Yeah. Although it's nothing untoward, when your girls outnumber your boys by a factor of six, I think you can start calling it a "prurient interest."
