DC to REBOOT???

Status
Not open for further replies.
DC is beginning to announce the Bat-plans.

Scott Snyder and Greg Capulo on Batman.
Tony Daniels on Detective.
Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason on Batman and Robin.
David Finch's Batman: The Dark Knight will continue.

Bruce will be the only Batman. Damian will be Robin. Mike Marts makes it sound like a continuation from where the Bat-books currently are.

As much as I'd love that, Perez can't maintain a monthly schedule any more. Now, maybe he's writing a Superman book and leaving the art to someone else, but I wouldn't expect to see Perez do both.
He's probably writing and drawing. After all, they have Jim Lee on a monthly book. Has Perez slowed down? He was a drawing machine back in the day.

I would be happy with some nice Perez covers alone, but his art is always a buying point for me.

I heard he has a bad case of arthritis.

His eyesight also isn't the best. He was told a few years ago that he could either not draw and see or draw and go blind.

^^^
I didn't know that about Perez. Hopefully those conditions have improved and he's in good enough shape to write and draw. I'd be surpised if he was signed just as a writer.

In other news, Bleeding Cool is saying they've heard Jeff Lemire will write a new Animal Man series.

I don't want to be a hater. I am genuinely excited for some of the proposed changes in the DCU, and will probably end up buying lots of books in September to test them out.

But damn it all to hell, it really does appear that DC have stuck Babs back in the tights. Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.

I hate it when I end up whining like a fan stereotype, but there is no joy in the world and the universe is black and evil and I hate everything! Everything, I tell you! :(

It doesn't look like tights. It looks like some kind of armor. Look at all the seams and ridges, especially on the legs. Maybe it's an exosuit of some kind?

Someone on Bleeding Cool suggested that it's actually Stephanie with a red wig, to further disguise her identity.

Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.
Yeah. I had really grown to love Steph as Batgirl. I hope she has a role of some kind in the post-Flashpoint DCU.

Looks like Simone is going to be writing Batgirl. BoP's getting a rebrand as ""Gotham City's covert ops team, taking down the villains other heroes can't touch". But they're deliberatly being coy about how things stand with specific characters. Wily beggars.
