Go, meatware!Pretty slow on the draw.
Rookie mistake. Never read the comments section.I first saw this on Facebook and I was totally stoked! But then I read the comments section...
Man... I hope people at least give DSC a chance.
At today’s presentation you are actually going to see a presentation from Marc DeBevoise…talking most specifically about CBS All Access and you will see the first clip of Star Trek today. So we are ready to show you something. It’s a small clip, but I think it is really impressive and we are really proud of it.
Don't make me turn this Internet around! Is the trailer out yet? Is it out yet? Is it out yet? Is it out yet? Is it out yet? Is it out yet? Is it out yet?
Well, that's a little disappointing, but it's better than nothing!Moonves suggests that it's less than a trailer:
That photo was shot in Jordan - not greenscreen - first time Trek on TV has filmed outside the US (apparently).
Yep. The whole show is filming outside the U.S.But even if it was greenscreen, wouldn't that have been filmed in Canada?
Tricorder confirmed.
Moonves suggests that it's less than a trailer:
That almost looks like Star Wars. Can't they come up with a different 'desert' costume for main characters in science fiction?
Yes it did.Oh my gosh, characters wearing a costume that makes sense for the environment in which they are in. Star Wars didn't invent goggles or long clothing for desert wear.
Yeah, I see that now. But still, the area around Burnham's head is somewhat soft, which leads me to believe they at least added the sky in post. But as I said, cool pic! This article at TrekMovie.com says:
While the show is shot in Toronto, the above image comes from location shooting in Jordan, making Star Trek: Discovery the first Trek TV series to shoot on location outside of North America.
They went all the way to Jordan to stand in front of a green screen?![]()
Don't forget that Lawrence of Arabia also ripped off the look from Star Wars... oh, and most of the Arab world ripped it off, too.
