AxaMonitor Updates

LOWERING EXPECTATIONS Axacon has only sold "a couple dozen [tickets] so far,” Alec Peters has revealed. Yet despite the expected loss of thousands of dollars to stage the event, Peters continues to justify the cost. Read the updated AxaMonitor article »

SILENCING AXANAR CRITICS Remember when Alec Peters blamed his PR director, Mike Bawden, for denying access to Axanar's financial records? Turns out Mike remembers that conversation somewhat differently: "That’s an interesting take on my advice to Alec. Not entirely the tone I used," Bawden told AxaMonitor. Also, don't miss the advice Bawden gave Peters on how to silence his critics — advice Peters has so far proved unwilling or unable to take. Read more »

Well, LFIM has completely lost his mind.

What do people call a convention that nobody goes to? A failure.... but to Alec a convention nobody goes to is a success.

So, I haven’t been following this as much as I used to. Life has been pretty busy BUT I have been watching the past few days (particularly in the Axamonitor FB Group) and I have to ask: are people in the “hater” camp really going to Atlanta to watch this shit show “con”? Or are they just messing with AP? Not that I’m to judge but I guess I’d spend my money differently than to fly to Atlanta just to screw with AP.

Then again, I suppose we all have our own priorities.

IDK - I think it would be hilarious if the majority of people who actually purchased the dozen of so tickets were detractors (although like you said, I wouldn't waste my time or money on such a thing.)

Oh loads of people from the "Hater" camp are descending upon NOTlanta, just for the shits and giggles, and about half of us are going to the "not" con again to see LFIM's head go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, hey I mean why the hell not, when you have a weekend free it is worth a trip to get us lot together if nothing else.

That's pretty sad. You're spending money just to go and ruin other people's time at a convention? Can't you find anything more productive to spend your money on like maybe donating it to charity or throwing a trek themed party for a bunch of kids with trek shows/movies/games on display to get them interested in the franchise? Anyone who does even basic research into Axanar will see the very troubled history behind it and its creator and the project is for all intents and purposes dead in the water. How does ruining other people's enjoyment of a convention which is a part of a different fanbase help you? You're not "increasing awareness" of the situation in any meaningful way nor are you one step closer to getting people's money back from that failed venture. I could see one person going incognito to record the event for later online lulz/posterity but a whole group of you going just to ruin people's time there is a completely different thing.

Yes because I'd fly from the UK to Notlanta....

I was joking.
