That's certainly true. I was busy listening to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and David Bowie for most of the 90s (until about '98 or so) and the 90s was my generation.

It was mostly Queen, Meat Loaf and the soundtracks to Blues Brothers and Good Morning Vietnam for me. Very little 90's music did very much for me at the time.

Also consider that a Carol Danvers in her mid-to-late 20's or early 30's, living in the 1990's would have grown up in the 70's & 80's and thus is even less likely to be massively into Nirvana or The Backstreet Boys. Now given she's a USAF fighter pilot, I wouldn't be astonished if someone slips some Kenny Loggins in there somewhere.

Someone in their late 20s in the 1990s would not be likely to be massively into Nirvana, by virtue of having grown up in the 70s or 80s? This makes no sense at all.

They just previewed a superbowl commercial for a female skiier (I don't follow sports, so I don't know who) and her ski outfit was Captain Marvel's. Not an homage, but it had the star and everything.

So that's why we haven't seen it in any photos yet, they leant it out.
