I never would have thought of him as Pike but he fits the part so well.

I know this is kinda weird to say, especially this soon, but now that I know he has been cast, I can't see anyone else in the role but him

I was going to say that I thought he had the right look for the role, not a physical match as you say but he looks like he'd bring across the sort of authority that Jeffrey Hunter did.

Judging by his age, I'd say we'll see Pike around the time he gives command of the Enterprise to Kirk (rather then the time of the cage). It will be interesting to see the contrast between the seasoned captain and the green young captain.
