Bill & Ted third movie on the way?

Excellent! And i liked part 2 btw. This was Reeves best acting as it was the most natural. Or was he acting or just acting normal hmmm.

The original Bill & Ted 3 eventually became Bio-Dome (shudder). Here's hoping any third film is better than that.
Really? I can kinda of see that I suppose. Didn't know there ever was a B&T:3 script to be reworked.

Anyway I'm not sure another B&T adventure makes sense for these characters. Older slackers? Older idiots? Ah, heck people watch Jersey Shore so why not.
If Rocky, Rambo, McClane & Indy can all return after 10+yrs and be a hit maybe Bill & Ted can as well if someone cares enough to make a story that works.

How about this. Bill & Ted are now married (no, not together) and have kids. But they find something's missing in their life, so they use the phone booth to go into the past into their 80's with their kids.

Their ages wouldn't be a hindrance, just make Bill & Ted former rockers turned brain-dead VH1 reality TV stars and continue on from there.

I'd watch it.

Or they could be something really different and unexpected...I have no idea what, though.

Hopefully the writers would turn some of the recognizable patterns of "reunion movies" upside down, though. For example, it's pretty standard that we find the two buddies have either had a violent rift and haven't talked to one another in many years, or one has disappeared. One lives a grown-up (equated in America with "suburban ornamental, married and middle-class") life and the other crashes in to upend it.

Let's not do that.

The movie will suffer from Carlin's absence, but let's not replace him with someone predictably arch and hip.

They might get some comic mileage out of ringing changes on the storyline of the "Terminator" franchise, rather as they did with properties like "Star Wars" in the original two movies.

The second movie can be described as some really funny gags and characters that didn't add up to a movie. It starts off very well, as someone noted. And come on - Vasquez Rocks? Loved that.

The plot would have to involve the Utopian future that Bill & Ted were supposed to inspire.

The first idea that comes to mind is said Utopia never comes about for some reason or another. Perhaps it's because they had knowledge of the future, so they didn't work to create it. Maybe they got too caught up in their fame. Something like that.

Something happens that makes the pair realize that it's all gone astray, so they set out to make it right, most likely by using the booth.

Ohhh, I love that idea. Combine it with Spiff's idea about the Utopian future not having happened.

"Dude, what happened? This is not the future we were looking for. We're washed up reality show stars. Totally bogus reality. What we need to do is put on a concert to show the world we can still rock. Like the 80's, man! Like, totally!"

That's actually a pretty good idea. I've always envisioned them as aging rock stars like The Rolling Stones, U2, Aerosmith etc., but never really knew where to go with it.

Yeah I read about this earlier today. I loved the first film, the second one sucks, don't really know what they could possibly do with a third film as both actors are older now.
Without George Carlin? Can't say I'm too interested. The second film, while it has its moments, doesn't hold a candle to the fun and humor embodied in the original.

^Perhaps this is just a case of me being weird, but I honestly like the second one much more than the first. Admittedly a lot of that has to do with the (much better) soundtrack but I think it also had a lot more scope, fun and enjoyably outlandish scenarios.

I rather think that'd undermine the end of the second film. Perhaps someone could go back in time and accidentally change history so none of the previous events ever happened and Bill & Ted find themselves in there here and now and have to either put it all back as it was or do it all over again....hmm, actually that sounds crap. Good thing I'm not a movie writer! ;)

I like the idea of Bill and Ted in their adult years having mellowed out a bit and grown discontent with being icons and the faces of a new era and longing for a simpler time and wanting to go back in time to have more adventures. You wouldn't necessarily need Rufus since Older Bill and Ted would have knowledge necessary to operate the time machine.

A third Bill & Ted? How can they do that and have it not look like Step Brothers except with mental teenagers instead of mental children?

It's not even happening....just something that Keannu mentioned that he'd like to do if there was ever a script.

Wow, Reeves' acting career has really sunk that low?

He's worth tens of millions and has been working steadily for the past ten years, and has a $100m sci-fi movie in pre-production, so... no?
You missed my point. Money isn't an issue, rather I meant that the best thing Reeves can come up with for a movie opportunity is this silly rubbish.
