Bill & Ted third movie on the way?

Dream

Keanu Reeves told MTV that a third "Bill & Ted" movie isn't out of the question.

"We're trying," said Reeves. "Alex and I are still friends and we're talking, and we're talking to Chris and Ed. They're going to try and see if they can write something. To me, I'd love to play the role. I'd love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again."

"We'll see what they do. If it's a film that can stand up on its own, and I'm meeting people now, they've shown the film to their kids," he added. "We just seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worthwhile on its own..."

Oh boy! A third movie should have come out 17 years ago, not now.

Yeah I read about this earlier today. I loved the first film, the second one sucks, don't really know what they could possibly do with a third film as both actors are older now.

Without George Carlin? Can't say I'm too interested. The second film, while it has its moments, doesn't hold a candle to the fun and humor embodied in the original.

Yeah, would be hard to make without George Carlin, plus Bill & Ted is a product of the 80's. Just wouldn't fit in as well now if they were to make a 3rd one. Ironically, they'd have to use their time machine to go back to the 80's in order to make it work lol.

The original Bill & Ted 3 eventually became Bio-Dome (shudder). Here's hoping any third film is better than that.

Do you mean 17 years ago? If so, I would agree.

I have trouble imagining this working. Ditzy teenagers are funny, but dizty forty-somethings just seem pathetic. Perhaps Bill and Ted have matured into more serious adults (and I think the first two movies implied they were going to), but then it wouldn't feel like a proper Bill and Ted movie, would it?

The second one has its moments if one enjoys the characters and their milieu - rather the best that can be said about most of the Trek movies, as a matter of fact. As a whole movie, however, it's not very good.

Still, "full-on robot chubby" and "we've totally been lied to by our album covers" are memorable. And what about the Reaper?

Yeah, I think the second movie only really started to come apart once they introduced the alien. It never really recovered that that point in the story.

I enjoyed just about everything before that, though. How can you not like Ted "possessing" his father?

Really? I can kinda of see that I suppose. Didn't know there ever was a B&T:3 script to be reworked.

Anyway I'm not sure another B&T adventure makes sense for these characters. Older slackers? Older idiots? Ah, heck people watch Jersey Shore so why not.
If Rocky, Rambo, McClane & Indy can all return after 10+yrs and be a hit maybe Bill & Ted can as well if someone cares enough to make a story that works.

They seem to bring this up every few years and nothing ever comes of it. The two movies we got were amusing enough. I don't think a third is really necessary and I'm not sure what it would even be about at this point.
