BBC transmission dates of Trek!

No that can't be the date! I used to watch the repeats on LWT and they started in April 82 and the episode Death's Other Dominion was the twelfth in their run! So must have been June or July!
JB

Saturday 1st May 1982 was the date! The repeats started in February 1982 not April as I thought!
The BBC must have replaced something else with Savage Curtain! WOW! That's a first, Trek replaces something else! :)

Tired me misread Death's Other Dominion as Dragon's Domain. Bad 1999 fan, bad! :)

Okay, so Death's Other Dominion was shown May 1st 1982 according to that list.

I'm impressed by your memory.

Looking at the BBC1 schedule for that day (http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/bbcone/london/1982-05-01) there's something called Lucky Luke on from 11am-12.12pm which fits with the time slot. And, searching BBC Genome for Lucky Luke reveals that it was scheduled again on 5th June 1982 with a note that the programme was postponed from May 1st.

Annoyingly I've got limited internet access right now so it's going to be a few days before I can get an updated posted, but thanks for the information. I'd never have picked up on a detail like this.

My pleasure, Sham!

After a bit of a delay the last three parts of this mammoth series have gone up on my blog.

I'm not sure what I'll do next. Earlier in the year I was recklessly talking about trying to get into the BBC Written Archive Centre. So maybe it's time for me to drop them an email.

That's a fab archive, very nice work.
The way it touches on other media events of the early eighties is also very nostalgic for me!

Thanks to everyone who has said nice things about the articles. I really appreciate the comments.

That was one of the appeals for me as well. In fact there were a couple of times when I had to dial back on some of the references to avoid it becoming meaningless to anyone who wasn't in the UK in the late 70s/early 80s.

that Savage Curtain bit of info I gave you is definite my friend!
JB

Yes, I've gone back and rewritten that section of the 1982 article. Thanks again for the information, it's something I would never have known about.
