AP sent out a 2025 vs. 2024 payroll increase/decrease comparison.

Dodgers were at the top at $345,260,789, an increase of $74,419,544 from the year before.

Detroit had a $61 million increase, Baltimore had a $60 million increase.

At the bottom, Cardinals spent $139,054,024, which was a decrease of $66,056,655.

Second to last was the Marlins, who were the cheapest team last year at $68,748,295, a decrease of $29,394,151.
