Baseball 2026: RIP Mr Laser Beam

That was part of this morning discussion on sports radio, how the Mariners won't be televised unless you go to the MLB website/app to watch the games.

Here you go. Comcast and Spectrum channels for the Seattle area have been revealed.

Full channel list supposed to come Thursday.

Cardinals and Tigers announced something similar today. Brewers won't announce their channels until tomorrow. Don't know about the other teams.

Game on!

Let’s go Angels!

This is our year, for sure.

:shifty:
Everyone has hope on Opening Day. ;)

Some of these Aces are getting shelled so far. Skenes, Webb, Boyd, all yanked early. Kind of makes me feel better about the game last night, though it would be awesome for the Giants to show some offense.

Umpire C. B. Bucknor had six calls overturn by ABS, so he took out his frustration on the Red Sox who had run out of challenges.

Yeah, I watched that game--Go Reds!!!--and I was giggling about it. Bucknor has been one of the worst umpires that I have seen behind the plate in recent years and the 'puter is bearing that out.

Speaking of challenges, Astros catcher Yainer Diaz thought a called ball was a strike so he challenged it. On an 0-0 count with two outs, bases empty, in the first inning. And he was wrong so that's one less challenge for the rest of the game.

For a league that holds onto its divisions and the AL/NL the way MLB does, we've have opening weekend series like Red Sox/Reds, Rangers/Phillies, Rays/Cardinals and the Toilet Bowl of Rockies/Marlins. Where is the Yankees/Red Sox? Cubs/Cardinals? Heck, even like Jays/Mariners would have been an idea.

Mariners give SS prospect Colt Emerson an 8-year, $95 million deal before he's even made the majors.

Brewers give SS prospect Cooper Pratt an 8-year, $50.75 million deal before he's even made the majors.

These deals are becoming more and more common because they're buying out free agent years in exchange for generational wealth up front, gambling that these players will be good and thus making it a bargain. But how many of these contracts have blown up in the teams' faces?

We do know that Jarred Kelenic turned down a contract like this for an unknown amount, gambling on himself, and he lost big because he ended up being a bust.

I think the AL/NL thing is basically out of date at this point. I wouldn't mind some realignment, though I still hate that the Dodgers are our southern neighbors and no matter what happens we have to share a division with them.

Tony Vitello got his first win with the Giants last night. Good for him. I want to see him succeed.

I sure wish I could make such easy money!

CB Bucknor makes the worst call of his life, which is saying something.

I may think he does a terrible job as Umpire, but I hope he's ok health wise. He took a foul shot right in the neck guard today and fell over. Kind of scary looking.

Konnor Griffin is next with his nine-year, $140 million contract with the Pirates.
