Arrow - Season 2

Ollie is a slut.

Slade loved Shadow purely and completely while Ollie was a slut vacationing in the woman Wilson loved inbetween tiny blonde sisters.

Ollie stole the love affair he should have had with Shado, sweet kisses and under water fornicating, and then removed her from play so that he couldn't even have sloppy seconds that were rightfully his. Logically there had been no point fighting the slut for Shado, because the slut was only ever going to wander off towards someone more blonde at the first opportunity, and the Aussie could pick up the pieces, which unfortunately turned out to be dead pieces

Have you never been in love with a girl who was in love with a jerk?

Respecting that persons belief in their love for another is part of being in love with that person, so you can't tell them that they are an idiot to love as asshole when they should be loving you.

People, women people especially, don't like being called idiots, or hearing their loved ones being called assholes.

It is impossible to break up a happy couple.

(Most couples are not happy.)

What a great episode. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

I'm really hoping they don't go the predictable route have Slade make Ollie "choose" between Sarah and Laurel. It really seems like that's the set up, and you know Ollie will choose Laurel just cuz. Despite not making any sense.

My bold prediction: Slade's research (and now obsession it seems) with the Mirakuru is to create a super powerful version. He's gonna call it "Lazarus."

That's right, Yao Fei and Shado are comin' back...

They would be skeletons by his point.

Once they figure out that the Flash can time travel however, all bets are off, until Barry develops a temporal prime directive after creating a world without doughnuts.

I liked the Wintergreen reference from Slade and the tension running throughout episode. Thought the shot of Slade casually covering the fallen ice pick with his foot was nicely done.
So Ivo only has one hand now or will he grow it back somehow, cant wait to find out.
Who knocked out Dig? Blood?
Did not like the shot at the end of Slades eye socket. Realize we needed to see he did not have an eye but it was just bad looking.
The wait for the next show is going to be to long.

Where did this Slade/Shado romance come from? Did Shado even know about it? Is it just an effect of the Mirakuru?

I was telling my wife I must have fallen asleep when this first came up in a flashback.

I think Slade always had a thing for her, but she and Ollie got together, then Sarah came back and there was that big attack. Shado took care of Slade's wounds and I think that's when he told her he loved her. I can't remember if she reciprocated, but I think there's definitely some jealously fuelling Slade's anger.

There was a point where they were making out in a lake and Slade walks in on them, then turns his back for privacy, while still talking to them about the mission, but his face, you could see that he was heart broken that she picked Oliver.

When he was sane, he could handle it.

The disturbing this is that Oliver and Sara both knew that Slade was into Shado well enough to know that they should make up a story about how she died, but how is it Oliver's fault that she picked him?

I agree and thought that for a while, but began to think that Oliver is/was conflicted about what he did that night. He felt genuine guilt (survivor's guilt is a known syndrome) that he "chose" Sara and he couldn't bring himself to argue his innocence.

I think the most logical statement would have been that if Ivo had been aiming at Shado he would have jumped in front of her instead. The woman he "chose" was based on who Ivo was pointing at. I think that was probably true, but I think Ollie is wracked by guilt and couldn't form those thoughts.

I also think it wouldn't make much difference to Slade anyway, because Slade would still see Sara as the "cause" of Shado's death, and Ollie as being responsible for that "cause."

Harley Quinn?

It's a promo for the next episode, although there's doubt whether she'll actually be namechecked, she might just be a little visual homage for fans.

Apparently there's also going to be a special announcement around episode 19.

Really enjoyed this episode. We got some great action on the island, and some pretty tense stuff in the present. I'm very curious where things are going to go now that Team Arrow knows about Slade. Somebody mentioned up thread that they were surprised Ollie didn't say anything about knowing Slade from the the island, and I had the same thought. As pissed and crazy as Slade appears to be, you'd think Ollie would try to find some way to warn Moira and Thea to stay away from him.
Sarah lived! I have to admit, I half expected her to die this week. Looks like they must be saving that for the season finale, if they do kill her.

I think I missed something about the scene when Shado is killed. I didn't think that Ollie really "chose" Sara. Didn't he just step in because Ivo was about to pull the trigger. If Ivo had been about to pull the trigger on Shado first then he would have stepped in to save her. Do I need to watch this again?

^No, that's exactly what happened. Ollie is suffering from survivor's guilt, and because of the Mirakuru, Slade isn't able to realize the impossible position Ollie was in.
