One of Season 2's biggest misfires was how they handled Soji, but not even trying to bring her back in Season 3 is one of that year's bad ideas.
Isa should have remained a significant character throughout the entire run of the series. To have her be so instrumental in season 1's story and then put her on a bus in season 2 was rather insulting.
I mourn for a version of Season 3 that wasn't so handicapped by budget problems and nostalgic tunnel vision where the cast from seasons 1 and 2 could've worked side-by-side with the TNG crew. Can you imagine how dynamic the science crew of Data, Soji, and Jurati might have been? Or team security with Worf, Raffi, and Rios?Especially when Season 3 revolved around Data as much as it did. How awesome would a meeting between Data and his daughter have been, especially after Data and Lore integrated. That finale really could have brought the entire series together and even brought back Jurati and they decided to not do that.
It's a crime that we didn't get to see Data and Soji meet. One other thing I will say about Picard is I did not like the way the Cast was treated and watching "The Pitt", they really did Isa Broines badly. She's a terrific actress who really wasn't given a chance to shine.
On that, I agree. It's a crime that we didn't get to see Data and Soji meet.

I could've forgiven a lot of the narrative sins in season 3 if it had carried the story and characters through better.
On that, I agree.

Yes, but don't you see how important it was to watch Jurati eat car batteries in 2024 Los Angeles? SACRIFICES HAD TO BE MADE FOR A BETTER STORY.
The first couple seasons at least had attempts at saying something with a story, though admittedly, not a high bar in the first place.Story?
With a rememberberry garnish.Even earlier - the first day of filming The Cage in December, 1964.
I enjoyed it while it aired, though I started to sense something was increasingly wrong during the back half of the season. By a few months later, I realized I'd wasted 10 weeks with the most empty Big Kahuna Fanservice Burgers.
Why even have a Department of Temporal Investigations at this point.Even earlier - the first day of filming The Cage in December, 1964.
I've been sour on it since it premiered.
It was not a kids show a lot of times. Slavery, child death, slaughter of whole populations. Calling it a kid's show breaks my brain.Because Clone Wars was able to be both a kids show and still have adult content is what made me give Prodigy a chance. American animation tends to be mostly kid centric unlike what I see with anime from Japan.
Unfortunately, I soured around episode 5 or 6.Are people souring on Season 3 of Picard now?

Probably a better assessment than a kid's show because there are times we're it is straight up World War 2 in space: the show.In the same way that Bluey is a kids show that adults can enjoy, I feel like Clone Wars hit a similar, but reversed, chord. It's an adults show that kids can enjoy, and I've always felt it was specifically engineered to be such. There's a ton of adult themes that would go right over a kids head, but still be enjoyable to that demographic.
It's either Space Vietnam, or Space WW2, there is no middle ground. Oh, wait, Command just told me that the middle ground is "Suffering and showing how bad the universe can be".Probably a better assessment than a kid's show because there are times we're it is straight up World War 2 in space: the show.
Rewatch season 1 of Clone Wars. Then, watch the last season. The show's themes went far more adult at the ending than they were at the beginning. It was not a kids show a lot of times. Slavery, child death, slaughter of whole populations. Calling it a kid's show breaks my brain.
I have. My wife has been binging it and the Bad Batch.Rewatch season 1 of Clone Wars. Then, watch the last season. The show's themes went far more adult at the ending than they were at the beginning.
