Are you "aging out" of Star Trek?

Isa should have remained a significant character throughout the entire run of the series. To have her be so instrumental in season 1's story and then put her on a bus in season 2 was rather insulting.

Especially when Season 3 revolved around Data as much as it did. How awesome would a meeting between Data and his daughter have been, especially after Data and Lore integrated. That finale really could have brought the entire series together and even brought back Jurati and they decided to not do that.

I mourn for a version of Season 3 that wasn't so handicapped by budget problems and nostalgic tunnel vision where the cast from seasons 1 and 2 could've worked side-by-side with the TNG crew. Can you imagine how dynamic the science crew of Data, Soji, and Jurati might have been? Or team security with Worf, Raffi, and Rios?

I could've forgiven a lot of the narrative sins in season 3 if it had carried the story and characters through better.

It's a crime that we didn't get to see Data and Soji meet.
On that, I agree.

One other thing I will say about Picard is I did not like the way the Cast was treated and watching "The Pitt", they really did Isa Broines badly. She's a terrific actress who really wasn't given a chance to shine.
I've seen some of The Pitt and she really is good in it.

I binged watched the first season last year because it was highly praised and I had just subscribed to HBO Max, and now I'm just watching Season 2 as it airs. 2 episodes in and it's still very good, though I did have some qualms with the most recent episode, but that's another topic.

Yes, but don't you see how important it was to watch Jurati eat car batteries in 2024 Los Angeles? SACRIFICES HAD TO BE MADE FOR A BETTER STORY.

I really wasn't expecting her to do that. I actually liked the performance she gave, but the...everything around it...was kinda weird. I don't think I even finished S3 of Picard, and that was the one I was most excited for. I forced myself through S2. I'm usually the person who likes ALL Trek too, even the bits most people don't, but that was just...too much. Too much dumb. Too much weird BS. I liked the ENT-D, but I've only ever watched those scenes online separate from the series. Not even the promise of the Ent-D was enough to make me watch it through.

Because Clone Wars was able to be both a kids show and still have adult content is what made me give Prodigy a chance. American animation tends to be mostly kid centric unlike what I see with anime from Japan.
It was not a kids show a lot of times. Slavery, child death, slaughter of whole populations. Calling it a kid's show breaks my brain.

Are people souring on Season 3 of Picard now?
Unfortunately, I soured around episode 5 or 6.

In the same way that Bluey is a kids show that adults can enjoy, I feel like Clone Wars hit a similar, but reversed, chord. It's an adults show that kids can enjoy, and I've always felt it was specifically engineered to be such. There's a ton of adult themes that would go right over a kids head, but still be enjoyable to that demographic.

Probably a better assessment than a kid's show because there are times we're it is straight up World War 2 in space: the show.

It's either Space Vietnam, or Space WW2, there is no middle ground. Oh, wait, Command just told me that the middle ground is "Suffering and showing how bad the universe can be".

Rewatch season 1 of Clone Wars. Then, watch the last season. The show's themes went far more adult at the ending than they were at the beginning.

I have. My wife has been binging it and the Bad Batch.

Yes, the themes mature but it never felt like a kid's show the way other shows did. Even the droid death scenes are over the top.
