Anyone here have a Tribble? (and does it give you any trouble?)

I have a couple that I bought from Majel Barrett at a con back in the 80's. maybe 1988. Not fancy, no squeaker. But untouchable street cred. Majel was helping a friend at a booth back in the day. This was in L.A., at the airport Hilton.

Very cool thing to have in your collection, a on-screen used Tribble from TOS, must have cost you quite a penny.

Yep. A friend bought it from David Gerrold on eBay, and then realized he couldn't afford to keep (feed?) it. After the parcel arrived, I told my friend in an email that I couldn't work out which of the hundreds of tribbles in the box was the screen-used tribble.

I was kinda desperate to own a screen-used TOS tribble at last, because I knew authenticating them was very difficult; many fans and Desilu visitors got them as giveaways in the 60s.

I once MCed a New Zealand ST convention where David had auctioned off a rather small screen-used TOS tribble, which came with a yellow plastic "Tribble on Board" sign for your car! (The company that made "Baby on Board" signs sent him the "Tribble" ones.) I lost that auction, but my big one is soooo much nicer! When I play the episode I imagine trying to locate it, but it simply doesn't have enough unique features!

BTW, the tribble red-shirted David is patting in "Trials and Tribble-ations" is the only screen-used TOS tribble to appear in both episodes.

Well, I am on a really good mood all of a sudden! I just got an email back from the Star Trek Experience store. I emailed them on Friday telling them of my damaged Tribble, and asked to which address they wanted me to send it back in order to get one in return. This is the responce I got back:

Dear Mr AxelFoley:
I am sorry you had a problem with the smaller one I am sending you out a replacement today DHL International Express. I did test it and switched it off before I sent it. DHL Tracking #XXXXXXXXX
Thank You,
ed

So they simply just took my word for it, and the man who responded to my email took care of it himself! I don't even need to send my Tribble back, which would have cost a couple of unnecessary dollars. Now that's good service!

I should have it by the end of the week :techman:

I have a chocolate brown coloured tribble that's the same size as the ones on the tv shows. When you squeeze it, it does the chirping squeaky sound.

Right now it's happily sitting on my DVD shelf watching for any snacks.

I think your tribble and mine are related.
