Anson Mount: A Pike Show Would Require Creative Conversations

I suspect there's nothing set in stone, but part of the pitch for the expensive sets for the finale could tie in to the S31 show. Since it's established that the S31 show will deal with how S31 became the later iteration of that org, it's inevitable that Georgiou returns from the future. Having the Enterprise occasionally tie in might be the best of both worlds.

Another thing to consider is with two shows you are going to need a standard "TOS" setting in which you can pull out for various Starfleet ships. You might see the Enterprise constantly being redressed as a various ships and even bases. Especially since Section 31 still has the issue that "Discovery" had in that you know at some point things have to look like they did on "TOS" and the Enterprise sets are closer to that. Now you also have a bunch of TOS style looking uniforms that you can use, even if they won't matter much on "Discovery." In fact I wonder if Section 31 will fully embrace the Enterprise uniforms of will they keep using the "Discovery" looking ones.

I could see them switching Starfleet to the Enterprise uniforms for S31 since they contrast more with the outfits Section 31 wears. Each time we see them we'd know that these are the guys who never get their hands dirty like Section 31 does.

I have a question. What would a Pike aboard the Enterprise do though we haven't already seen before in Trek? We have seen shows about the Enterprise exploring space, including the TOS one with Spock. I think if you do this you got to have more of angle than just that.

If you do this I think you would need to go with the idea that Discovery was never in the Prime universe so you can open things up and try new things. Maybe give him a different fate and he becomes head of Starfleet Academy and you use Pike as a means of finally doing that show.

It can be anything. Who care. What we want to see is Arson Mount's Pike, Romijin's Number One and Peck's Spock who played so well in ST Discovery. It's not about the Enterprise, really. I think that it is a waste if they just gone like that. Without any future story about them.

If you say like that, then there is nothing that we can see from Star Trek anymore. Then, why don't we watch something else? Like... Wandering Earth perhaps?

No you can still do Enterprise and stuff but you do got to keep finding new angles to explore. Let's see one that is more a Aircraft Carrier a show were people live on earth and explore sort of like Stargate. We have lots of Trek out their and lots of stories and variations on those stories already told many times over by this point.

Meanwhile, most everyone else on the internet thinks Star Trek: Pike is happening, all written and sets ready to build.

Big fan of Pike series idea here, but one looming paradox I see is that lots of people on here:

• Advocate for Pike series
• Complain about excessive fan service in Discovery

What is a Pike series if not the ultimate fan service?

I'm a fan of the idea, but it would probably work better as perhaps an intermittent mini-series, produced for release in between the "flagship" Trek properties.

Meanwhile, I continue to think appearances on the upcoming S31 series might make sense.
