Exactly what I was thinking.........they are 1:1 scale and the price point is $39.99. I can justify THAT.

Beyond my pocketbook, but looking at the ad reminds me what a cool design it is. Whoever created the prop (and the communicator and tricorder) did a great job.

Seems light Trek fans are always getting ripped off when it comes to props and replicas. A Force FX lightsaber only costs about $150 on Amazon, and it sort of functions like the real thing (in so far as it lights up and you can hit shit with it).

I don't know much about the FX sabers but I do know, high end props always try to capitalize on a film or show when it just comes out, to snag the rich folk who need it now. And trek fans are more starved for cool crap than wars fans.

It does seem ridiculous though. Then again I am not a collector kinda person so I may not understand it well.

I also don't even like these phasers. they are too "modern tactical" lookin for me,

the TOS phasers have a cool vintage vibe to them and the TNG ones have a cooler, kinda unique sci fi vibe.

I can't justify spending that type of money on a prop or uniform and yes, I've wasted good money on Trek stuff.

You don't even get the thing until April if you order now. I'd just wait for the cheaper one later in the year.
