All the Negative people.

TAS and this are very different. TAS was basically TOS with some new aliens and some things they didn't have the budget for. There were no shots of frontal nudity. I mean also.. why is right for the female ensign to have her cleavage showing and to invade her colleague's "bubble" when he leaves his fake log. I personally have no big issue with it other than the fact that it is awfully low.. but if the roles were reversed people would raise holy hell. Also this show (from all appearances.. because we only have a trailer) seems to think of science and medicine as trivial things, things that are surface-level "col" or "messy". I don't know, it's just my opinion that this show - while they ahve the right to make it and you have the right to like it- just kind of skips past the vision of Star Trek. Again, opinion..
So far, despite all the opinions I don't see the skipping past, save for skipping past insulting the production team.

If TAS can have a giant Spock then I see little issue with what is presented thus far.

Sometimes those guys can be funny in the right state of mind. That bowstek guy I think is his name always sounds like Wallace Shawn to me when he is in full wine mode. Just make sure to turn it off after like 3 or 4 minutes or it gets really boring as they belabor the same point over and over.

I think it makes sense to want all Trek shows to be appealing when you're a Trekkie.
If so far you've liked everything, all shows and movies, and then suddenly there's a new show you don't like at all, it feels like you can't be a 100% Trekkie no more. But I'm sure there have always been single episodes or scenes in movies that most people didn't like, and that didn't tarnish the rest of the franchise. It can be the same here, even if one whole show is not at all for you, consider how much else there is to like.

It's no effort, especially compared to making an actual show, which includes building sets, designing ships and tech, hiring actors and technicians, ADR, motion control.. oh no this is just .. let's make a silly cartoon that looks like a 5th grader's drawing
Naturally an animated show isn't going to be as costly as a live action show, but you are sorely mistaken if you think producing one requires “no effort”. Sets, ships, characters and props still have to be designed and animated, (voice) actors and a whole production crew of artists have to be hired, scripts have to be written, music has to be scored and the show has to be marketed. Repeating such uninformed non-sense just demonstrates that you haven't got the first clue about what actually goes into producing an animated show. You can dislike the show or its animation style all you want, doesn't make it “no effort”, though.

Star Trek is a drama, with a real vision of the future behind it. I'd be willing to bet Roddenberry would not approve of this show, and its obvious mean-spiritiedness, its childish art-style and childish humor. I could be wrong.. it is my opinion (and on a message board, I shouldn't have put a "in my opinion" qualifier in front of my opinion.
I couldn't give a fuck about what Roddenberry would think about Lower Decks.

I mean also.. why is right for the female ensign to have her cleavage showing and to invade her colleague's "bubble" when he leaves his fake log. I personally have no big issue with it other than the fact that it is awfully low.. but if the roles were reversed people would raise holy hell.
This attempt at somehow framing Mariner's behavior in that scene as sexually harassing is ludicrous. Just because you are seeing a hint of her cleavage doesn't mean what she's doing is somehow sexual. Thinking it is reveals more about the sexism in the way you are looking at this rather than any alleged sexism in that scene.

Mariner's behavior is obviously uncomfortable to Boimler in that scene. That's the whole point of it, actually. But they are also obviously goofing around as friends. There's nothing sexual about it.

No Effort? Huh, I'm not one to say anything personal about anybody, because that crap behavior, but I'll make a minor exception this time.
As a person who does 3d, its a lot of effort, movies like Tangled and other Cgi movies cost just as much or more than a regular film, Every single thing is drawn or created in 3d, which is a TON of effort, You have 100's of concept art for everything from people to places, ships, etc. then the person Actually drawing, or in 3d making, texturing, lighting, EVERYTHING, from Sets , hell the people are created and painstakingly animated. In some ways it is HARDER than just filming some random actor/actress/actrix on some set.

Yes it might not be a "Preferred" medium of alot of people because western aesthetics is "Animation is for Children" mentality, but if you look at Anime, They have every single type of genre.. and most are For Adults.
I personally think it is a great medium because you can do ANYTHING, alot of stuff is limited in live action because of the cost of doing things, in animation, you have NO limit of what you can draw!

I could be wrong..
I'll agree with you there.

IMO, probably the silliest thing done in TAS, which is downright silly compared to anything, was the episode The Jihad, where upon learning an object is on a high ledge, Kirk surmises the obvious culprit is the alien with wings, despite the fact the room they were in had zero gravity and therefore any of them could have reached the ledge. But no, the alien with the wings is concluded to be the guilty party, is then accused, and is confirmed to be indeed the guilty party. So far, nothing in Lower Decks matches that level of silliness.

And don't get me wrong, I love TAS and in fact The Jihad has become a sort of favourite because me and some of my friends get such a kick out of that particular scene. But it was a silly moment.

Indeed, when I watched the scene and noticed her collar was open, I simply figured this was supposed to denote she was off-duty and was therefore wearing her uniform in a more casual manner as a result. Kind of like in the TOS movies whenever the characters ripped open the front flap of the monster maroons when they went off-duty. I don't know how anyone can read anything sexual into this behaviour.

was I talking about Tangled? No. I could.. yes. I was talking about this Lower Decks.. the show that took so much effort and talent.. they tried soooo hard to make it look like it was drawn by 5th graders. THAT takes talent

I'm not a fan of this animation style either, it's cheap and looks like crap.
But i still wouldn't say No effort.. Maybe some effort that falls flat. But that's most western animation now a days.

Stop it already. No it doesn’t.
Maybe you’d like it if the animators/designers started insulting any work you’ve done?
I'm not saying they are not talented. I'm saying it takes a lot of talent to make it look like they are not. They are clearly going for drawings that look like utter crap on purpose
