Spoilers AHSOKA series [Spoiler Discussion]

No I have to agree with him. Hera acted completely on her own, military commanders should not do that. The military serves the people and the government, not their own interests.

If she wants to go off and save the Galaxy, she should resign.

I can't believe they put so much effort into that video, dissecting a bit of horribly bad TV writing. The whole subplot with Hera and the senator is garbage to start with. If Leia is the head of some sort of defense council, Hera's interactions should have been with her and that council, not 4 rando senators and the NR chancellor. The whole thing was idiotic to start with. The guys who made the video need to find something more important to channel their energy into.

Nope. The claim was that Hera was depicted as a fascist. That couldn't be further from the truth. Insubordination is not even a sign of fascism. The dude has no clue.

Technically Hera used her own starship, the Ghost, to check up on a Fulcrum mission/Jedi business. Some X-wings decided to tag along to investigate reported Imperial activity, which would be one of their jobs. At most she was AWOL doing a personal follow-up on a Jedi mission that she had lost contact with mid-transmission.

"You're a communist."
"You're a fascist."
"I'm not. I'm nothing."

I am told it isn't easy being green. Though it could be the lekku. Or that Hera is a senior general of the New Republic, while Poe's like a squadron leader or maybe a wing commander in the Resistance.

I am not sure, but I would think Hera would be in charge of Starfighter Command.

Poe was an impulsive idiot that basically threw a mutiny-tantrum because as a freshly demoted officer that got most of their fighter and bomber squadrons killed, he wasn't kept in the loop with all high level decisions. Never mind the fact that the new CO was as much of a rebel veteran as Leia (and lifelong friend to boot.) It was 100% a pointless ego trip. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hera on the other hand was chasing down an existential threat to the New Republic she helped create, despite politically motivated bureaucratic roadblocks from a career fence-sitter. It's not that Hera can't or won't respect the chain of command, she categorically can and has on numerous occasions regardless of her feelings. It's that she won't follow objectively stupid orders that WILL cost lives, regardless of the potential cost to her career and reputation. She serves the people of the Republic, not it's politicians.

Poe just thought he knew better. Hera actually did know better. There; that's the difference. Mystery solved!
