Spoilers AHSOKA series [Spoiler Discussion]

Speaking of those recordings, where did they come from? It's not like she was lugging them around with her after she left Order and then later into hiding during the Empire's reign.
I wondered that myself. One possibility that occurs to me is that she got them from R2 when she visited Luke, since it's a fair bet Anakin had R2 make the original recordings, and he never seems to delete anything.
Failing that; maybe this T-6 was the specific one assigned to Anakin & Ahsoka (or I should say the only one left that he didn't crash) and Ahsoka *somehow* recovered it at some point in the last 30 years? That seems like a stretch though.
Speaking as someone who use to ship them early on, I get it. Took me a long time to finally let that pointless ship and accept what was obvious. The sibling energy is strong between them.
The only way I can kind of see it is the way Ezra tries to turn on the charm early on, but I just took that as a normal "young teenage boy meets slightly older pretty girl who's obviously way cooler than he is" reaction. It's just a reflex for him to show off, nothing actually romantic. Indeed, most of Ezra's relationships with the various Spectres revolve around the fronts he puts up, and how they gradually break down.

And if you chart the arc of Sabine & Ezra's relationship specifically; it goes from Ezra trying to impress her, while Sabine very much not taking him seriously, to them both having genuine respect for each other. While there's certainly a growing platonic affection there, the core of it is always about mutual respect.

You're probably thinking of Kazuda Xiono, the main character of Resistance. He's the son of Senator Xiono, who makes a couple of appearances in the show as well.
Yeah that's it, thanks.

Maybe it's a coincidence (and maybe completely irrelevant), but this makes me think of all of the people who are mad how Babs and Buster in the new Tiny Toons are siblings now, instead of a perspective couple.
They weren't siblings in the original series? I haven't watched it since it originally aired, so my memories are very vauge, but I thought they had always been siblings.

A couple other random thoughts:
Could we see Shin joining up with Ahsoka and co. by the end of next week's finale? She actually seemed to give Ahsoka's offer to join them serious consideration before she took off.
I hope we get some behind scenes footage of them the howlers, I would to see what kind of horses they used and what they looked like. There were a few scenes with closer shots, and where we could see what looked physical hair on their howler's backs, but it didn't look like horse hair, so I'm thinking put some kind of fake "howler fur" over the horses backs.

What a misnomer this episode's title turned out to be. But it's not like we don't have precedent in Mando's "The Spies".

Early on, I definitely got the vibe that Ezra was into Sabine. Never the other way around. And I recall at least one gag from season 3 or 4 (I think it was probably 3) where they have Ezra do the embarrassed "Together. But not like together, together," bit. But it isn't like it was a regular beat the show visited multiple times. There were a small handful of moments here and there, that's all.

I think a lot of the shipping crowd is just because they are of similar age and on the same show. Even the handful of moments I mentioned above aside, it always felt pretty clear that the Rebels cast was a found family, with Hera and Kanan as the parents and Sabine and Ezra as the kids. And Zeb and Chop as the wacky uncles.

Not really. "Dreams and Madness" was how Baylan described the planet just last week. Like fairy tales come to life.

This entire episode took place in the wilds of said planet. Amongst the dreams and madness. Is it the best title? No. But "Thrawn Wins, Even When He Loses" would be a bit on the nose too.

Could use the title of one of the worst Star Trek episode: ""Move Along Home".

It's still nice to see Hayden as Anakin with Ahsoka. Even as a hologram it just makes it all seem more real. Also, that he's channeling Matt Lanter's performance helps make Anakin believably the good master that Ahsoka remembers.

Eman's practically IS the animated Ezra. The awkward, nervous body language. The worried attitude peppered with tension-breaking humor. The physical resemblance right down to the irises of his eyes. He's been the most consistently fun to watch of the Rebels legacy characters.

He's giving the best performance in the entire show. The only one else who's really doing anything remotely interesting is Ray Stevenson, but even he is held back by the limited material.

Dawson is finally starting to wake up a bit after sleepwalking through the show (and all her pre-Ahsoka appearances.)

And the less said about Winstead's appallingly bad performance, the better.

I wonder what the follow on to "Ahsoka" will be? Aside from "Skeleton Crew", which may or may not be related to Thrawn in any way, all we know about is the eventual Filoni movie. Could there be a follow up "Rebels" sequel series with Hera and the Ghost crew once they probably get Ezra back? Assuming we don't lose Ezra or Sabine next episode. Or would they go back to animation to explore more of this era with Thrawn until the time they are ready for the movie? There is also the supposedly already written fourth season of The Mandalorian to go in there.

Assuming the Screen Actors Guild Strike ends in the near future.

Who's your choice, then? And no, it can't be the actress from Obi-wan Kenobi. If Brown is too young, well, then...

The problem is that these things get dragged out until actors are too old. Look at the Pine and Quinto and co. Easier to cast younger actors and make them seem older, than it is to de-age older actors with VFX. Also, given that Luke and Leia are Jedi, younger, more physically capable actors would seem to be the order of the day.

On that point I thought they did a subtle but effective job of aging O'Reilly (who really was a superb bit of casting)

'Skeleton Crew' is indeed next up and indeed may or may not have anything directly to do with what's going on in this show (mostly I'm curious how they're going to work Carson into it.) Officially I think it's still slated for later this year, but there's understandable rumours it got bumped to spring next year. After that it's 'The Acolyte' which is it's own thing, as is Andor season 2, which should be out around this time next year. Beyond that all we know for sure is that Mando season 4 was being worked on before the strike and seems to have had what was going to be RotNR folded into it, so that's the most promising candidate for continuing on with these characters somewhat, and is probably going to be out either late 2024 or early 2025.

I guess a 'The Book of Boba Fett' Season 2 is possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Honestly an 'Ahsoka' Season 2 feels way more plausible at this point. Either way, unless 'Skeleton Crew' has a significant connection it's going to be a few years before any of these threads get picked up.

No, they didn't. She's supposed to be, what, 5-7 years older than ROTJ Mothma? Not even close, she looks almost exactly like she did in Andor.

I thought they'd added a few more lines, especially around the eyes. I was only watching on my laptop however.

But what are the dreams and madness? Just the Noti existing? I feel like it would have made more sense if we got to see what Baylan is looking for.

I suppose 3PO could have marched into Hera's court martial going "This is madness!"

This. When I've given an elevator pitch to people for Rebels, it's always: "Firefly in the Star Wars universe, animated and for kids." It's not exact -- I'd say Kanan is part Mal, part Wash, for example -- but it's the basic idea of it.

the whales goes to warp??
also... why do i feel i just witness the child of star trek and lord of the rings?
