Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

If the Skull won WWII for Germany, within 5 years English was going to be a dead language. Johann was giving English one last harrah, but that has to suck, the Skull spent a year or two of his life learning English, and all that time, his fricking youth is now wasted and filed away into deep storage never to be opened again.

Speaking English after complete German Victory would eventually be punishable by death, and all books written in English would have been burnt. Dead is dead. In a hundred years there'd be no one on Earth but German speaking Germans becuase it would have gotten to the point that the planet had been renamed Germany.

Above are my beliefs if Marvel's cartoony Third Reich won the war. In the real world the NAZI's would have just finished exterminating the undesirables, hung a flag every where and then left everyone else "relatively" alone as long as they hit their production targets and paid their taxes honouring the war reparations paying for the German War Effort and global occupation retroactively adjusted for inflation, plus interest.

Berlin was also on The Red Skull map of targets, he'd of won the war for Hydra not Germany and take over Germany as well.

Although that really would have been more of a coup d'etat replacing the Nazi Party with Hydra, than anything else. The German Reich still would have been the German Reich, just under Hydra rule with a different fuhrer.

It wouldn't have been the Geman Reich than the United States would've continued without Ellis and the White House. The idea as Zola explained was to remove the governents and make thet people turn to Hydra for leadership. Hydra in the one wants a one world government under their rule.

He was going to lay low the whole world including Germany to leave them all in a state of chaos for his world Empire to reign. That is somewhat closer to how the Islamic State thinks it will take over then Hitler.

Hitler was going for a empire the size of the continental United States and to realign the racial demographics of the continent. He imagined for some reason Germans would want to settle Russia. I guess shown by his troops not having winter clothing he didn't look at what the winter was like there.

The Wasp and Havok had a baby daughter. The Wasp actually had a dirty weekend with Magneto in the first Secret War, and Havok married Magneto's daughter Polaris a while back too. How Deliverance of Marvel for our entertainment.

Almost married her. He baked out and then it didn't go too well for him.

Okay, chiming in late here. Last week's was a solid ep, though it is frustrating that Olmos never quite stated just who his SHIELD was being transparent and accountable to. And it was annoying that Hunter didn't press him on that.

I only see a few possibilities.
1) Gonzalez' SHIELD is another rogue agency. If they are, Olmos' statement is laughable because they're no more transparent or accountable than Coulson's SHIELD.
2) Gonzalez' SHIELD is an authorized agency. If they are, Olmos' statement doesn't make sense. They're not going after Coulson's group because of transparency issues. They're merely going after some rogue group that has delusions of grandeur and Fury's toolbox.

And this still doesn't touch the questions of when they were formed, why no one seems to know about them, and THEIR apparent transparency issues.

^ At this point, I guess we can only assume he meant transparency to a classified Congressional committee and the White House, in the same sense that the CIA is more transparent than the Men in Black. But yeah, the fact that Coulson hasn't yet heard of them through his grapevine of old SHIELD agents is weird. Comic-book plotting, I suppose...

And yes, I seem to recall reading that this was filmed in the same diner.
Ward: "This is a stick-up!"
Diner Manager: "Not again..." :rommie:

The thing I find most intriguing is Dichen Lachman's Jiaying's presence in both episodes. I wonder if we're getting more flashbacks or if she is still alive somehow.

Probably, but I hope they have some way of bringing her back to life-- which may tie in to Xena's return (and the possible return of Trip :D).

I'm also looking forward to seeing May's Cavalry story told.

Maybe that diviner that turns people to ash is a slower terrigenesis because they don't have the proper genes so it takes longer. I hope not, really, but anything is literally possible.

Wouldn't it be funny if Triplet was a triplet?

If the Koenig brothers are robits, then why isn't Ultron going to hack them?

Based on preview clips, Lucy Lawless is actually returning in a flashback to the day SHIELD fell.

Interesting to see that the Bobbi/Mack Shield started under Fury way back before Coulson's Shield did.

Glad to see this conflict is starting early in the episode. No need to spend more time building up to it.

Was that a Hulkprint?

Heh, Little Debbie reference. A callback to the ads in marvel comic books that starred marvel characters.
You may be thinking of Hostess.

ETA: EJO talking about his ship really stokes the flames of nostalgia....

"The House that Banner Built"...I had a suspicion last week that it was supposed to be the cabin from the end of the TIH....

Where'd Banner pull the funding from, if he actually had it built to his own specs before falling in with the Avengers?
