Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

Actually, I take it back. Wasn't Red Skull's giant flying wing named Valkyrie?
That would be a tad insensitive towards Cap methinks, given that he spent 70 years as a Capsicle in the thing.

It may even persuade Stark to switch his dramatic entrance music from AC/DC to Wagner. ;)

Dresden Files already did that with an actual Valkyrie. Also MLP with a Pegasus, they'd just be late to the party doing that.

If it's Tony, it's AC/DC, something IM3 apparently didn't get the memo on. Anyhoo.

CONSIDER>>>

Valkyrie -> Val -> Val Cooper.

Well, leaving aside obvious qualms, I'm pretty sure Val Cooper is an X-Men character owned by Fox.

(I want this soooooooo bad.)

Val was used by Mark Grunewald during his Captain America in the 80s as a member of the Commission on Superhuman Activities(The Punks who shitcanned Steve Rogers for not being American enough), where she was the official liaison between Freedom Force (The somewhat reformed Bortherhood of Evil Mutants working dutifully for Uncle Sam) and the Commission.

Which would put Ms. Cooper tenuously in the same umbrella that allows for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to be simultaneously used by Marvel and Fox.

Sorry.

P.S.

Wikipedia says that she has a brother called Dale in the F.B.I.

:D

Apparently, Feige was asked about Fox using Quicksilver recently and his response was "it was the one character this could have happened with and it happened." If that's true, there are no other shared characters. I find that hard to believe, but it's certainly possible.

Spider-Man is in the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

Luke Cage is in the Avengers and Fantastic Four.

The Wasp and Havok had a baby daughter. The Wasp actually had a dirty weekend with Magneto in the first Secret War, and Havok married Magneto's daughter Polaris a while back too. How Deliverance of Marvel for our entertainment. :)

I suppose since Quicksilver is "supposed" to marry an inhuman princess, that that makes him perfect for the intended story lines?

(I realize that I am venting an impossible fantasy, but I thought it would be fun to share.)

I don't think it's true, since there's at least one other character it applies to, Scarlet Witch. And Val Cooper's a more obscure character, easier to overlook. Maybe Feige just forgot about her, or never considered the matter.

Red Skull called the vessel "Valkyrie" in the movie, I'm sure of it.

I seem to remember that, too.

Though he should have called it the "Walküre" which is the German version of the name from Wagner.

Maybe he did. After all, we the audience heard his speech to the Hydra troops in English rather than German--presumably we were hearing an omniscient audience translation rather than Red Skull literally speaking English to his Hydra soldiers.

Peter's sister in DOFP wasn't named as I know and in any event they're twins, their ages were too far off for them to be twins in DOFP.

If the Skull won WWII for Germany, within 5 years English was going to be a dead language. Johann was giving English one last harrah, but that has to suck, the Skull spent a year or two of his life learning English, and all that time, his fricking youth is now wasted and filed away into deep storage never to be opened again.

Speaking English after complete German Victory would eventually be punishable by death, and all books written in English would have been burnt. Dead is dead. In a hundred years there'd be no one on Earth but German speaking Germans becuase it would have gotten to the point that the planet had been renamed Germany.

Above are my beliefs if Marvel's cartoony Third Reich won the war. In the real world the NAZI's would have just finished exterminating the undesirables, hung a flag every where and then left everyone else "relatively" alone as long as they hit their production targets and paid their taxes honouring the war reparations paying for the German War Effort and global occupation retroactively adjusted for inflation, plus interest.

Okay, chiming in late here. Last week's was a solid ep, though it is frustrating that Olmos never quite stated just who his SHIELD was being transparent and accountable to. And it was annoying that Hunter didn't press him on that.

I'm also unclear as to why Ward and 33 needed to hold up a whole restaurant if they were only after one guy. I guess Ward really wanted to LARP a Pulp Fiction scene (was it filmed in the same diner? sure looked familiar), but surely following him to his digs would have been easier...

I can imagine him unconsciously checking his back-pocket to check and see if his wallet, the one that says "Bad-Ass Mother Fucker" on it, was still there.

And yes, I seem to recall reading that this was filmed in the same diner.

Berlin was also on The Red Skull map of targets, he'd of won the war for Hydra not Germany and take over Germany as well.

Although that really would have been more of a coup d'etat replacing the Nazi Party with Hydra, than anything else. The German Reich still would have been the German Reich, just under Hydra rule with a different fuhrer.
