If I was Skye, my exact question to Ward would be: "At what point did you decide to become loyal to me, and why."
Ward insists he is loyal to Skye but does not give any credible reason. As far as we know (and Skye knows) Ward did not know her before he met her. If this is not true, then if I was Skye I would ask this: If Ward knew of her beforehand, what did he know and why did this information make him loyal to Skye above his loyalty to Garret. If he was not loyal above Garret, then why on earth should she believe he is loyal to her now?

He's not loyal above Garrett, but Garrett is dead. If I were Ward, that's what I would say: "The second Garret died."

Because he cares about her and cared about the team, he just placed his loyalty to Garrett above that. Once Garrett died, there was nothing competing against it.
It might not be a justification to make up for it, but it's probably an honest answer.

Anything could last beyond the season. How are we supposed to know right now? That depends on what happens going forward.
There's no guarantee this show will have a 'beyond this season', frankly.
