Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

I don't get why Coulson was so reluctant to tell Skye of Hartley and Idaho's deaths.

I'm confused. So the Obelisk was affecting Creel through his rubberized body? He wasn't storing the Obelisk in his arm or anything?

Raina safely touching the Obelisk screams Inhuman to me!

^Skye would be off her game if she was busy being saddened by the loss of teammates. Also, who really knows the science of Absorbing Man's abilities when in contact with alien objects.

Pretty good episode, looks like the season could hold promise.

Is it me, or is it when The Bus and Quinjet decloaked there was almost a "Star Trek" sound to it?

I wonder if Fitz will ever be "back to normal" instead of having a classic case of Acute TV Brain Damage?

I wonder if/when we'll see Absorbing Man again?

Wondering what their damage is...and what it might become.

Seriously, it's something we knew the production team was going to come back to eventually, with all the hints dropped during the first year.

Still not a fan of Hunter. He brings nothing new to the team and seems really extraneous at the moment.

I was wondering if anyone else thought it sounded like a Bird of Prey or Warbird decloaking! I wonder if that similarity was intentional somehow!

SHIELD hit an all time low in ratings last night. I really fear this show's days are numbered. I'm hoping Agent Carter turns out a lot better so that Marvel won't cease trying to have a hit show.

I wouldn't worry too much about cancellation until the Hulu and DVR and other Plus Three and Plus Seven numbers start to drop. Overnight numbers are near meaningless in 2014.

Plus it got Disney at its back and maybe they're willing to settle for less profit than anticipated and are looking at the long run so they make keep a show that barely finances itself on the air (and i don't have the slightest cue at which point Shield is considered profitable, it certainly may not be cheap to produce).

Things like the Hydra reveal in the last third certainly kicked up the quality of the show but it lost a great deal of good will with the lackluster first half of season 1, especially with the insane buzz leading up to it and the huge franchise it is attached to. Not many shows can bounce back from a mediocre or even bad season.

What if Disney made a horrible tactical error?

They can't possible cancel the series before they've building their Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. Rollercoaster for Disney World?

Thought these first two episodes were pretty good... although the show still has too much of a lightweight guilty pleasure feel about it, and hasn't really hooked me or made me desperate to find out what happens next like it probably should (and like other Whedon shows have in the past).

Which probably explains why the audience as a whole keeps slipping week after week as well.

I've liked both of the episode so far. The latest episode had some cool moments, and I hope we see the absorbing Man again. The mercenary does seem a bit unneeded, but I don't dislike him or anything. I've been finding Fitz's stuff to be interesting. The preview for the next episode was very good, I'm definitely excited for it.

I don't see this as a Joss Whedon show whatsoever. This is not a Joss Whedon show. Jed Whedon? Sure.

also, I don't know if this has been posted but:
Joss's fingerprints are all over.

Rest assured every script gets a visit from his red pen.

Now I have an image of the Whedon Boys Mysteries:

I was more imagining Rosco P. Coaltrain chasing them in his patrol car around a big tree, but that's good too.
