Like many of you I lasted a few minutes before switching off whoever-the-hell Matt Mira is. Irritating as fuck.

The only "Afters" show I've watched was one for Dr Who. Not all the personalities on it were my cup of tea, but it was fun and that's what kept me coming back. After Trek just lacks that. I was skipping through it pretty quickly. Only reason I'll come back is to skip to see an "exclusive looks" at the next episode.

Just discovered that this was available on Netflix, too. Yeah, the host is kinda grating and trying a bit too hard, but all in all I found it watchable. Especially interesting were the behind the scenes clips and the preview scene from episode three I hadn't seen mentioned before. It's interesting what Harberts says about episode three being pliot number two and that it was a conscious decision NOT to tell all of the backstory via flashbacks and just make it a long prologue.

I genuinely thought the first 20 mins of the show was a train wreck! The host seemed nervous and irritating - he makes Hardwick look like David Frost - and there seemed no structure to the show - wheeling on the cast to sat uncomfortably on some high chairs for five mins was embarrassing! Clearly Frain was given a scripted answer to the whole 'what do you want to bring to the role' question after the break too! It improved a bit later-some of the behind the scenes stuff was ok - but big changes needed!

I could only get through half of the first episode. If you haven't watched part 2 of the pilot, don't watch AT, because the idiot host starts spoiling part 2 at the top of the show.

The show's apparent belief that a show that discusses Trek also needs a "funny" fast talking host is so off base. But besides that, the host is fast talking, he is SO not funny. He kept creating awkward pauses because instead of asking a question, he would make some type of statement and just pause, apparently, waiting for a response.

CBS needs to understand that Trek fans would love a low key discussion of the previous episode involving fans who may or may not be celebs (as long as they are fans), a la "Talking Dead".

I had a chuckle reading a reddit thread where Mira spouted that the most important thing was giving US a space to discuss the show or somesuch. Like it were a noble, altruistic endeavor. Like we didn't have HERE. Or reddit. Or a hundred other forums to discuss the show. As if watching fluff was "discussing the show."

To paraphrase Hunter Thompson, Hardwick and all his associated pop culture parasites should be put in a goddamn bottle and sent out with the Japanese current.

If you can get over Matt Mira being overbearing, it's still worth a watch after episodes air. Has some cool behind the scenes stuff and sneak peaks of what's to come. Just obviously don't expect any critical discussion on the stories.

Bad-mouthed? Torn down? No. Nobody wants that. That's the opposite side of the spectrum from what AT is doing.

I think you are well-intended but horribly off to think there aren't PLENTY of people who would prefer to see the show bad-mouthed and torn down.

This could’ve been something fun to watch after the new episodes, but the host really killed it for me. Left it on as background noise after a bit. The BTS stuff was kinda neat at least.

I didn't mind the host. The executive producer Harberts talk about where the show is going. They said the war thing is for setting the stage, and will not go beyond the first season. It will explore how peace is achieved in essence.

I liked it a lot, it was fun, the host was alright. Then, I really like these aftershow shows, these days I enjoy Talking Dead far more than the actual series.

This was the one interesting little tidbit that came out of the part of the show I could stomach. Very interesting.So far, I haven;t seen it discussed anywhere else in the forum.

I liked Hqarbarts. Seemed to be a fan. He referred to Star Trek as "TOS". Never heard a production staff member use that designation before.

I liked it. It was very entertaining and the host wasn't as obnoxious as I expected, he was OK. I hope they always have a member of writing staff on the show. I will keep watching.

I watched it tonight, after watching both episodes again. Agree about the host being annoying. Liked getting a few spoilers about what is coming. Plus the preview for the next episode looks cool.
