Re: Instead of Khan in a sequel.. how bout...

I don't agree about Shatner being a villain, but I do like the idea of doing the mirror universe on the big screen. I suggested the very same thing just a few months ago. I definitely think it can be done and done respectably. Yes, some of the DS9 episodes were rather silly, but look at what a great job Enterprise did telling a mirror universe story that was both fun and could be taken seriously with solid action, suspense, and tension. I bet a modern Star Trek movie dealing with the mirror universe could be intelligent and thrilling, but I agree with the person above me...the two writers of the last movie would need a lot of help to keep the plot tight.

Re: Picard/Borg movie

IF the movie provided a nice "end" for The Next Generation much like TUC did for TOS, I really wouldn't mind. Hell, we've had 4 Klingon movies, why not 2 Borg ones? A final TNG movie done well would have me Mondo Stoked :p

Exactly.

TNG deserves a better send-off than Nemesis. I'd still settle for a really good direct-to-DVD film.

Re: Exelcsior Class

It won't happen. The Enterprise is brand new. Unless the next movie is taking place a number of years after this one, then I don't see how they could plausibly introduce a superior design.

Re: Picard/Borg movie

If they decided to do a Borg/Stewart movie......I'd honestly be stoked (helll, I barely folllowed the new movie and took 10 people with me and I'm 22)....but who else would book the theater as soon as it is announced?

A prime "hang over" done right with Stewart appeals to me..

Didn't they already do a Picard/Borg Movie??

I've kind of been wondering how they can even scrap and improve on the brewery look, with the Enterprise being brand new. Was there enough damage done by the Narada to justify a refit?

This is the only complaint I've ever read where the movie was considered too complicated. Almost every story complaint I've seen here and in print was about how the story was almost too simple and sophomoric.

I do think that the story of old Spock trying to help Nero in the 24th century, then accidentally going back in time after Nero does but Nero goes further back because he went through the anomaly first and then waits 25 years then Spock shows up could be seen as complicated and hard to follow.
I got it...but i don't pat myself on the back for being able to follow sci-fi plots.

Oh, but we're the generation of Back to the Future! This stuff is child's play to fans of the 80s :)

More than once I considered that the audience was just mentally nodding and saying "uh huh" and breezed on by.

I think J.J. had them pegged correctly. Time travel is everywhere (except real life).

I don't think so since the last time we see engineering it's still intact with no noticeablr damage.

Re: Exelcsior Class

Yeah, I don't think so either. So what excuse could they arrive at for not reusing the brewery, I wonder.
