Well, you do wear the red shirt.

Re: Exelcsior Class

It won't happen. The Enterprise is brand new. Unless the next movie is taking place a number of years after this one, then I don't see how they could plausibly introduce a superior design.

Why not? They re-did the Enterprise bridge no less than four times in all six movies (TMP to TWOK, TVH to TFF, TFF to TUC) and even Re-did the Bird of Prey's bridge in TVH, all with no explanation of any kind.

Basically, they can change the set any way they feel like, no explanation needed.

The bridge even changed between TWOK and TSFS!

What changed between TWOK and TSFS? The only differences in the Enterprise that I noticed between the movies was that she had more damage in TSFS.

Other than the brighter and more colorful lighting, the biggest changes on the bridge are (1) the upper dome is transparent in TWOK and glows white in TSFS and (1) the flooring color/texture on and near the lower level, although it became toned down from initial design to final appearance:

EAS doesn't appear to have direct linking blocked anymore, and their images show up on a Google Image search and can be accessed directly by anyone. The EAS site policies forbid hotlinking for embedded images in a thread or as an avatar, but I see nothing in their policies about providing a link directly to an image. In fact, if I must direct people to a page at EAS and then they must click around on a few images to find the ones in questions, it seems like I am costing Bernard even more bandwidth.

They do show up in Google image searches, true, but if I click on one of your direct image links to EAS or click on the Google Images "See full size image" link at the top of the page (which is essentially the same thing),

what I or anyone else will see is this (even if not actually plugging his pictures into a website page):

If you want to show them to anyone, linking to the page containing the image (or hosting them on your own space) is the only way which works, because that's the way Bernd wants it, bandwidth or no.

Odd, I swear it worked for me before. Now I'm getting that warning gif instead. Hmmm... Maybe the images were in my cache, and my browser just showed me the cached images instead.

Yeah, I think that's what must have been happening.

Re: Exelcsior Class

It works if you right click the hyperlink and copy the URL to the clipboard, then paste it in the address bar. It just won't let you go there directly by clicking the link.

Re: Exelcsior Class

I would definitely like to see redesigned Miranda and Excelsior class ships show up in future Trek movies.:bolian:

As mentioned in other posts, I cut and pasted the EAS links so I can view them. Honestly, I see no difference outside of lighting, which I would imagine would be due to alert statuses and whatnot. For instance, when the Enterprise is docking and under control of Spacedock, isn't the lighting decidedly blue?

Re: Exelcsior Class

Hmm...I actually liked the new engineering section and have always hated the old Excelsior design. Didn't like it in Star Trek 3, didn't like it in 6 when Sulu flew it around and didn't like it when it showed up in TNG. I hope it's gone for good.

Re: Exelcsior Class

I don't think Eaves would change the Excelsior much, as it is his favorite Trek ship. IIRC, he was even reluctant to add the new side panels we saw on the Enterprise-B.

And having a mod of SFC 3 that has both versions of the Excelsior I can't blame him for being reluctant because the TSFS-TUC version is way better than the Gen version

Re: Exelcsior Class

I wouldn't show an Excelsior class ship this early. Even in a changed timeline 2258-60 is too damn early for that size and sophistication.

Not when Starfleet already has technological developments based on the Kelvin's sensor scans of a gigantic late-24th-century Romulan vessel.

Maybe so. I just don't want the Kelvin's scans of the Narada in 2233 to be the excuse for every super-advanced ship we see in the revised TOS timeline from here on out. Would be kinda lazy.
