Same here.I mean, I'm deep into sci-fi hobbies and even write fanfilms but I can't imagine that any female character or studio hire connected to a franchise I like is going to make me feel like less of a man.
I must be doing it wrong.

So why won't they talk about it.. even leave an open-ended slot on their website.. or tell us something about the show, the time period? Isn't it odd that the only thing we know about the show is that it's female centric? Considering the entertainment climate right now, is that really the one aspect of the show they want to pimp BEFORE anything else?
My question is rhetorical by the way....
....With one announcement the brand has been tarnished forever.. and everyone has been insulted.
Female centric is not the way to pomp a show that hasn't even had a single story written or a single character sketched out. It's only a way to grab a headline and chart the wrong course right from the dock.
Iceberg, right ahead!
so glad that Rey is the best EVAR!
and that Avar Kriss will be the best evar!
Oh, fuck off, you tedious little shit. If you're that threatened by women characters, women writers, women directors, women producers, and women executives, then you should probably stay in your basement. It's not safe out there. You might catch their cooties or something.Maybe this is all about leadership. Maybe it is all about vision.. or the lack thereof. Why would uou need vision when the franchise can be a perfect soap box?
I didn't say shit like this to you, and I have no problem with female characters. But the agendas, soapboxes, and identity politics of straight, cisgendered white men are fine, right?I didn't say shit like this to you, and I have no problem with female characters. I do have problems with agendas, soapboxes and identity politics when they are placed over stories
Except your posting history proves you do. You always deny it when it gets called out, but the facts are right there to those of us who've read your posts.I didn't say shit like this to you, and I have no problem with female characters.
THE WOMEN!!!!!Had the BBS been around when Voyager premiered in 1995 I'd hate to think what he'd have thought about Janeway, B'Elanna and Kes being in the lead cast and Jeri Taylor being so heavily involved.
i have a problem with the agenda in the entertianment. I never had a problem with female characters. I like Rogue One, Voyager and other shows like thatExcept your posting history proves you do. some of my best friends are..i have a problem with the agenda in the entertianment. I never had a problem with female characters. I like Rogue One, Voyager and other shows like that
The problem is is that the agenda is never detectable by others in terms of the story. Who thei have a problem with the agenda in the entertianment. I never had a problem with female characters. I like Rogue One, Voyager and other shows like that
The only agenda being displayed is trying to be more inclusive, that is all.i have a problem with the agenda in the entertianment. I never had a problem with female characters. I like Rogue One, Voyager and other shows like that
Let’s be real here, and talk about this issue in relationship to how you go about being “inclusive” shall we.?The only agenda being displayed is trying to be more inclusive, that is all.

Campea was on his own show, talking about this new Lucasfilm hire and the new show. He said: “I can already hear the manbabies crying ‘why is it female-centric, there’s an agenda' .. let’s just put that to bed and not tough on this again, shall we? They’ve already got three other series that are all male lead, that means right now, that means that if this comes out and it’s only four shows, that’s 75% that are male lead and they got one that’s going to happen to be a female lead one, deal with it. And just move on, can we move on?
Nice, right? You guys are probably telling me the same thing. Except, when he did that show, he had a female cohost on his show with him by the name of Erin Cummings. She said: “I really, really loathe the descriptor of female-lead. .. and here is why: I love the idea of a predominantly female cast, I think it’s fantastic. But my problem is.. Why are you only releasing the fact that it is female-centric show, oh and they are going to be doing some kung-fu, whatever, like WHY SAY THAT, like could you read me the headline again, except, take out “female centric” and just pit “male centric” “ She goes on (after Campea refuses to actually go back and read the headline in that way. “These other shows that you talk about that are predominantly male driven, nobody says “we have this upcoming series, no one is going to tell you anything about it, but it’s going to be predominantly men.. And that’s exactly what this is saying and for me, yes, I want to see shows with MORE women - obviously - but you don’t have to say that is the selling point. Tell me a little bit about the story - make me fall in love with the story because ultimately, because if the show does fail, then it looks like the show failed because it was female-centric, not because of a million other factors it could have failed by - and also, when the first news of it is ‘female-centric’ I know that there is a lot of people - NOT JUST MEN - also some women, who are like .. all right I’m not interested in that, I’m tuning that out.”
This was on John's own show.. John.. who is huge shill for disney.. yet in the past, while says he "loves" what they've done to Luke Skywalker has also made a video calling for KK to step down.
This is the problem when inclusivity is put ahead of story.
I added this as you wrote your comment I'll just add it nowI saw that clip. I think they were both correct. Sometimes tv shows oversell the progressive angle. It's corporate progressivism when you have a show with no real vision so they just sale you a bunch of cliché positive sounding phrases which means you often see words like woke run into the ground until it becomes a parody word. Still that isn't what happened here. It was just a release of a very bareboned description of the premise which is female ninja's in a different time period of Star Wars. That isn't forcing a agenda. When you have shows with 3 male leads already you need descriptors to separate from them. I am also guessing they don't even yet fully got the characters fleshed out or anything so their is only so many ways you can describe what the show will be about with the little amount of info they shared.

Jason I'm not raging at you specifically.. I wrote that before I knew about your response. I am raging at the fact that everyone in this thread is dissing me.. for calling this shit out.. and then attacking a strawman version of me.. a person who doens't like females.. which is untrue but it makes them have an easier time arguing with meI saw that clip.
